Cool, was it hard? I've always wanted to make my own clothes, but my mom says I would need a sewing machine and I can't afford it. What did you have to get to make it?
Anyway you could post a picture of it?

No not hard at all, I didn't need a sewing pattern or anything, I just used common sense, by eye. I do have a sewing machine, Ijust got it. Sewing machines are expensive (100 and up) so here is an idea. why don't you save up a dollar or two a week for the next year and when the holidays come maybe you can meet your folks halfway.
Oh, and I'd post a pic but i've no camera( those are expensive too!) but it was just a basic green skirt with hemp drawstring :)
    oh and YAY!

Yeah, I save most of my money anyways, in case of emergency. It's a good cause, so my dad will probably help, since he's into that stuff. He's a semi-old semi-hippy. Keep up the good work ^__^.

Sounds nice, congrats! I hope to do a skirt for my next (second overall) project. I'm a beginner too but I just use my sister's sewing machine when she's not busy. Lilypad, if you are interested in buying a sewing machine, check out ebay. You can sometimes find some wonderful deals.

Good idea on ebay, but you'll probably end up paying a looooot for shipping. Get to a thrift store, you can get them for like $10-$20. Use it for practise, and in the mean time save up for a good one. No sense waiting a year when you're dying to sew...i only waited 8 months, and i thought i was going to die.
