I haven't been able to halfway function for days, depressed and feeling like doing anything is worthless. I really want this to stop, I'm close to seeking professional help. Anyone else have experiences with this?

If you think you need help, ask for it, by all means!

if this has just come on during the winter, it could be seasonal affective disorder

you could also get your vitamin d levels checked

regular gentle aerobic exercise could help you. maybe a brisk walk for 30 minutes a day.

seeing a doctor is probably a good idea

hope that things can get better soon!

Yeah, I'm with it for a long time. I don't really see any hope for myself. And it kind of sucks as it is just a beggining of my life.

Sorry to hear you are going through such a rough time. Do you have any idea what is causing you to feel depressed? I hope you keep yourself safe and take care of yourself. When feeling this level of distress it is easy for things to snowball. Right now I would suggest doing something to distract yourself from what you are feeling. Doing any kind of activity you might enjoyment out of. Even if you will only get partial enjoyment out of it. The point is just to give yourself a break from you thoughts. I don't know if you have any friends that you can trust to talk to.

You mentioned you are thinking about getting help. Until you get to that appointment just get through each day the best you can.

If you feel like you might harm yourself please reach out to someone and get help right away.

I have felt like you every day for the last 2 yrs. Therapy helps, it's just that i get so depressed i wont leave the house to get the help i need. Meds can work and they can also screw you up worse. Basically a shrink will tell you--Eat a proper diet, exercise, do something, have some goals-something to look forward to. Make a plan and stick with it. I find out that if i force myself to get out and do something, i end up feeling better. Establish some kind of routine besides sittin round the house all day watching TV. Volunteer work is good as you can feel good helping others while you are actually helping yourself, my problem is getting off my ass and getting started, but when i do i feel better. It's so easy to be feelin depressed and do absolutely nothing, which in turn makes you feel worse. I'm currently workin as an intern at a small nursery, and the days i do force myself to get out and do some work leave me feeling much better. Grow some weed, it's as good a medicine as what dr. prescribes with much less side effects, although at times can make you more depressed. Being active, doin stuff, to me helps more than anything. Peace!
