Happy new year to all you fellow barefoot travellers! Hope 2013 is a year full of good barefoot experiences and maybe a little less timidity about being barefoot in public! Lets make it a confident barefoot 2013!
I'll toast to that. I've made a lot of progress towards not being self-conscious when barefoot hiking, but still have major issues with most other public places. For example, I attended an Auto Show recently where the floor of the convention center was covered with plush carpet for the show. I wanted so badly to take my Tevas off, but there were a ton of people around and I couldn't bring myself to do it. Maybe in 2013.
You sound distinctly Australian, but thats OK! New Zealander's have prawns, not shrimps! Both countries are very barefoot friendly!
I did it at the local annual car show back in February of last year, it was awesome! Left my shoes in the car and went on inside. I have definitely been going BF much more this winter, down to much colder temps than I did last year. where last year I resorted more often to using my VFF's. Other than work, or on the bike, and one time walking out in the snow with my son (out for more than 30 minutes), I have not worn any shoes whatsoever.
