There are nice Quebecers out there. I know a few. But the rude stereotype is certainly rings true, if you don't speak Quebecois. (Which is a bastardization of real French) Racism is really huge there too. Purity of their culture and other xenophobic excuses...

Actually that's a myth, it was the Algerians who invented the croissant. Early colonial frenchmen brought it back to Paris where it became a popular dish.

From what I understand, the French are very rude to Americans.

It was the Dutch who designed the Eiffel Tower, and wine was first made by the Egyptians.

I am not too crazy about the French. Those that I've met so far were a bit too free-spirited for my taste.

    Hello,

hmm, that leaves us with room for interpretation. As a student I shared my flat with French exchange students for a few weeks. They weren't as free-spirited as one might think. They almost always had their clothes on ;).

    Regards

The French can be a bit stand-offish,especially in Paris. They can come across as arrogant sometimes. However I have got to know some french people over the years, even had a french girlfriend,so I think they are okay. They have an interesting culture and history. And what do we mean by French? Like the UK,they have a a large immigrant community. They also have a lot of social problems, just like the UK.OOh La La...

Free spirited? They're just down right rude. 3rd week of Oktoberfest = Italian/French week = worst week of Oktoberfest.

I personally think its disgraceful that a Germanic clan could ever turn out to be something like the French. I'm just glad they never venture deep into The Bavarian alps near me.

hahahah reminded me of a quote from Goldmember: There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

In Canada, Canadians hate the french, the Quebec french anyways, because they're arrogant and rude. My friend moved to Montreal and he's slowly becoming a dick and it's sad to see. My grandpa lives in Quebec too with this crazy, annoying french lady. And a dude from quebec pm'd me here being a complete douche so most, if not all my experiences with the french have been negative. And the way they speak... like a retarded french person just back from the dentist trying to eat soup. Or like someone barfing in their mouth.

Heres another interesting fact: Believe it or not, but the word 'Gullible' is not actually found in any dictionary in the world! Weird, eh?
