The Newtown massacre is the tops news story of 2012. They even decided to re-vote because the shooting happened the day after the voting. They falsely identify suspects, falsely connect the shooter personally to the school, falsely report the shooter/mother's background, even falsely report who died where; and haven't made much of an effort to clarify those reports -- but even though their reporting sucked; it sure brought in the dough, I guess.
I was such a joke how that all went down on TV. All those mistakes, just so they can be the first ones to have SOME news. It just inspires the next demented soul - look at all that attention!! I refused to watch anything about it. It was an incredible tragedy and greedy pigs gained a profit - disgusts me.
The holidays here, people usually have their radios on to listen to Christmas music. I've heard lots of people have turned off their radios because of the hourly news. At jobs, and shops and schools. My sons school bus always had the radio on. Last week of school he had before x-mas, they had the radio turned off. I don't think they realize just how many have turned off and tuned out.
The reporting for the newtown shooting was absolutely horrible. I miss the days when everyone got their news for one hour on the nightly news or even waited until the next day for the newspaper. 24 hour news has really thrown fact checking out the window.
