i don't think roor meant to imply opiates are psychedelic. he might have been recalling Fresh's tendency to take low dose LSD, and go snowboarding or speeding in his car because he could "handle" it.


about your sidenote, ROOR, ...i kinda feel that's how i use psychedelics. repeated (just not frequently) and low-medium doses. i am confident in my ability to handle psychedelics, but i'm still humble about it as well.
it's like i know it's not a good attitude to have (to think you can control a trip), but i know i kind of have it.

Never understood the love for psychedelics if I'm honest. Really messed with my mind personally and the thought and action of hallucinating is as close to being crazy as I can imagine or believe. Perhaps I've just had bad experiences with them as I know some people really enjoy them but still - maybe madness is beauty.

Well to be realistic, there are some levels that are handlable... bit I think it's still unhealthy to have that sort of relationship with the substances, because it's ultimately that sort of relationship with your subconscious, which is what psychedelics bring out.

That is, if you take five hits and go to a fancy resturant, and handle yourself, I feel sorry for you, but I don't think it will cause perminant damage, and could cause positive effects. But I think if you constantly take low doses that you can handle, you're just supressing things, the things that higher dose psychedelics can teach you to handle.

Not to say that museam doses are inherently damaging, I don't think they are at all. But I think they need to be balanced out.

It's also how you handle it. The difference is between riding it, and controlling it. I'm sure you can see what I mean, as you've taken considerably more psychedelics than me.

Remember, freshie had a very bad time, and triggered a schizo-affective type disorder for a few months, when he took the bad mental habits he'd learned and tried to apply them to a trip (A moderate-dose shroom trip) that ran away on him. And that can happen on even tiny doses of just about any psychedelic.

So I'm saying, it's.... get ready for this.... a combination of: set, setting, and dose

*edit* also, to be fair, I would LOVE to drive in a caged car, on a closed circut, on a moderate dose, but of course that would basically require LSD being legal. And I think psychedelics and snowsports sound like excellent fun, if the setting was right. But it's the mindset that freshie went into them with.

My worn out "fight the ocean and you will drown" doesn't necessarially mean you'll just sink on one trip, you might get caught in a riptide and not realize it until it's too late and you're trying to impress your imaginary friends, like freshie...

It's better to be a psychedelic mess and freaking out, than to have delusions of grandeur and cause serious personality problems. Nothing against freshie, I wish him the best, but I think we can all see why we don't want to be like him or approach life like he does.

all the stuff you're saying about "handling it" reminds me of my bachelor party camping trip. 6 of us all took one (potent) hit of acid. it was a great time...but later, 3 of us took some 4acodmt (2 of us had taken acid earlier, one had "only" gotten drunk) and things got a little hairy. i did my best to help my two friends (one was having a bad trip and one had a mini seizure).

well months later, one of the other 6 was talking about that night and he was like "[porkstock] knows how to handle shit. he was everywhere that day, making sure everyone was ok, everything was cool." to be honest, him saying that kinda make me feel like the candyman, or a mini version of [insert psychedelic hero image]. i quickly reminded myself that psychedelics are supposed to be about keeping one's ego in check.

 

Well, once I drove on DXM. And I've driven on mystery-tryptamine-headshop-pills. Both where a ways into the experience, and over the peak, but the pills where fine, but DXM was a pretty bad idea, because I had depth perception problems. First a car would be a hundred feet ahead of me, and then I'd realize it was right in front of me and freak out, but it would really be like 50 feet away still.... didn't help that it was at night, and snowing. But everything went okay.

I'd love to go snow-anything while tripping. It just snowed more than it has for many years here, but I have nothing to do, no friends to do it with, and no doses to spare.

It's great to be handling your shit, but not by fighting the effects of the drug.

Hey guys, im still alive yes. I been living pretty fuckin ghetto like, got a new gf shes really cute and nice and really loving. stayed at her "place" last couple of nights, its like a room under some bridge that she made, pretty fuckin sweet when it comes to homelessness. But yeah she says she knows of a room for 500 a month that is open, all my other potentials fucked up because they all chose another tenant. But yeah at my dads office tonight so yeah im not doing horrible. Really aprreciate the good vibes i love you guys that do that. At my dads work again tonight thankfully. Peace guys.

I don't know man. I guess I could say that as long as you're happy with your situation, then that's all that matters. But I'd be lying, because living under a bridge isn't good. I really hope that it's just a temporary thing and that you get your life straightened out with a steady job and some permanent housing. If doing drugs results in you living under a bridge then you need to stop. I'm not hating, I'm just telling the truth. Is rent really that high out there? $500 a month for just a room?

 

yeah that would be considered a really good deal here happydude. Girls are fuckin nuts dude i cant do it. I tried my hardest to get my girl help today, and my "best friend" wouldnt even help out since i didnt get the sack of drugs that i promised to do with him, so yeah i ended up getting jacked 40 bucks, losing my girl, finding out my best friend isnt even a friend he just been using me and is actually a peice of shit.
Yeah.. rough day.
On the bright side I have a couple of room interviews tomorrow, and i have 3 potential real friends that heard my story or part of it about today and they will come do drugs with me. Some people cant handle this shit and drugs end up being more important than friends to some.
