i haven't owned a house. i don't remember the first house i lived in with my parents.

that is what my furniture was like in my first apartment though (well, my first unfurnished apartment anyway).

My furniture has always been second hand or antiques. None of it really matches and I like it that way. The only furniture that I bought new from a store was my futon and frame.

Nothing in my apartment matches except for my end tables, and they only match because we covered them in duct tape.

Oh don't worry Sunshine, things will get better. Things take time. My first house I shared with my ex was mismatched, in fact at one point we only had a mattress in the bedroom a old fashioned wardrobe and no bed.

    It was awfull.

    You'll get there Hun.

I bought all my furniture secondhand. The couch is floral and I hope it looks more groovy vintage floral, less grandma floral. I have a lazy boy from the 80s that I like a lot because it's in perfect condition. My coffee table is a nice piece of furniture but someone painted it a horrible design so I'm going to repaint it. I have another end table that's obviously meant as cheap dorm room furniture and I'm going to paint that too. I painted my kitchen chairs red and they look pretty cool now.

If something can be painted, just do it. That's my motto and it's really kept my house from looking too outdated since none of my furniture was made after 1990.

It's hard to determine what my first house was. My very first apartment, excluding college pads, I had a futon for a couch, tv tray for end table, used black tv console (although I didn't have cable) and an old beat up writing desk in my living room. My kitchen simply had a small but nice small table. The bedroom had a matching bedroom set with headboard, end table, and dresser. That's about it for furniture.

I moved into my own apartment when I was 19 years old.

I had my bedroom suit from childhood.

My parents gifted me with a very small black and white television.

They also gave me a card table and chairs for my dinette.

Also, they bought me some kind of little couch thingy that converted to an uncomfortable bed.

For a coffee table, I used my cedar chest, which my mother bought for me when I was engaged to be married at 18 years old. (I broke of the engagement, however.)

I used plastic parsons tables to sit lamps on in the living room.

The living room wall was decorated with a ceiling-to-floor pyramid of record album jackets.

It was a pretty sweet place.

Thanks for encouraging me to remember this. :)

yeah, i don't understand the point of making over 1000 different channels when they all just show teenmom 24/7.
