I had my first sexual experience at 15 with a 29 year old guy. I think it is good for young girls to experiment with older guys at that age, it's safer than going with guys our own age i think.

 

I do have scientific fact actually and the premise wasn't that alcohol causes brain damage.

As for your driving question its probably because you got to start slowly phasing responsibility into kids, and driving is very much necessary for some teens to hold down a job which they need.


The near age exception in the states varies by state and actually doesn't protect all scenarios in those close in age cases, there have been prosecutions.

But the premise of those laws was to prevent society from sending kids to jail when they obviously aren't a threat to society, but they made an error in judgement.

Bananaboner's strategy for this thread was to make a (implied) statement, which is that he should be able to bang underaged girls, and then ask people why his statement shouldn't be true. It basically makes it a tedious pita to argue with him, and brings things somewhat out of the realm of logic (after-all, it's an illogical way to structure a discussion, in the first place), and it lets him work on the basis that he SHOULD be banging underage girls. It puts him in the right, falsely.

Now this is difficult for me, because I think the age of consent should be lowered... why? Because there's all sorts of people I would have liked to bang when I was 16, from other 16 year olds to bananaboner's mom. But on the other hand, bananaboner, in arguing for the age to be lowered, makes a pretty convincing case for leaving it be.

Well for your information mister Odon I came onto him at a party. He was being really sweet because I was a little drunk and he thought I was going to pass out. See this kind of scenario, while it technically remains illegal, is the gray area because nobody got hurt and everybody was a consenting party and nobody had to file charges.

In those cases fine, everybody has free will, but the law has to keep the underage sex laws in place for cases were the older party DOES intimidate the younger party from reporting something, and so the juristiction such as county, state, country, can file charges.

Now @catkinpuss, you were probably very mature about it and used protection right (if so what kind of protection) but if you had gotten and STD and/or became pregnant did you have a plan of action?

I've been with one or two other older guys in my time and trust me they are much more sensitive, maybe because i am younger so they treat me with more care or they want to be a father figure to me I don't really know, but that's how it has been in my experience. The oldest guy I have ever been with is 42, and I was 17 then. We also didn't have full sex, just cuddling and kissing. I saw him for a few weeks while he was over working from the states.

Only one time I have a bad experience with a guy who tried to push me into it and was too forceful and he was actually 2 years younger than me. I was really scared that time and thought he was going to rape me.

If you really want to know, the reason it's how it is is because even while being entirely sexually mature, and mature in every other physical way, we recognise that emotional maturity, in almost all cases, will change radically around the age of 18. Maybe 16 for some, maybe 20 for others, but for legal purposes it is necessary to establish an "age of majority", it which a person can be considered independent to make that sort of choice, along with many others, such as voting.

Now, it has been noted that being under the age of majority does not mean that a person is automatically immature, and so, especially with their parent's consent, in many places they can EVEN have sex before this age, for example, in maine the age of consent is 16, and if you're 14, you can have sex with people up to the age of 17 without breaking the law (it's a plus three deal, I think): this accepts that people who are 16 may end up in a legitimate relationship with someone who happens to be older, and it accepts that people who are 14 may end up in legitimate sexual relationships with people who are older than then, but it puts an a barrier up to people like bananaboner, who just wanna do kids, to try to prevent the manipulation of people under 16 by people who are vastly older than they are.

Obviously, different places have different rules. Those with no rules are underdeveroped backwaters where people like bananaboner fuck kids, and those with very strict rules are fascist shitholes, with puritan lawmakers who don't like to think that people might be getting it on, when they where being puritan douches and didn't get that chance at that age.

Anyways, that's "why", and according to your method of debate, unless you can provide good reasons "why" it should be lowered, it stands as existing for a good and fair reason, even if the law can't take every single situation into account.
