God Bless the Corporations

Look at the probables. Is Amazon.com really all that important? Couldn't you order from the store clerk, if it were offered at the same price? Okay, it, itself probably saves paper, so we'd probably save it. Now look at all the shit we have to toss.

And if the system were overthrown, (obviously it would have to be done orgainized), we'd gain a new and better economy, and thus gain our freedom, as, comparatively, it is slavery we live in now. That's why some people can't work. They realize they are slaves to the destruction. You can't say--look at the positive side, look at how much arguement went into that. Sometimes you have to leave the doubtful things to the side and get to the nitty-gritty. How about plastic? How much plastic could you do without compared to how much you use today? Gasoline? Leather? Convenience Foods? (compared to organic). And, even though the price of organics is high, I agree it shouldn't have to be at this point in time, still, what is a better way to spend your food dollar for good ole' planet earth? A t.v. dinner or a home cooked orgainic meal? Which is better for YOU? Electric and Gas and other fuel sources (some vegetarians can thrive without having to cook, and can live outside!) Get with the program! If you sugar coat the situation, that's an escapism attitude, and it really gets in the way of getting things done. And, of course, if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

 

And I take that back. We don't need Amazon.com. Computers take too much plastic and electricity.

 

Um, so I suppose you are sitting on a log, tapping out your messages on squirrel teeth or something? Aren't you USING a computer right now?

 

Products. $ Worship. Unchecked desire satisfaction. Mindlessness. The WTO forces poor countries into weighted trade agreements and then kills them if they try to back out when they realize that the intention was to make billions on their backs while controlling every aspect of their spending and their lives.
Yeah, they were better off, & we were better off w/out an oligarchy driven propoganda machine giving rise to obscenely overblown desires and shaping most everyone into disgusting models of 21st century mindless consumerism.
Everything about big business and money worship is in stark contrast with human connectivity and genuine compassion. I'll end with this quote from Tool... "All you, read or, hear or, see on, TV, is a, product, beggin, for your, fatass, dirty, dollar, so shut up and, BUY! BUY! spend more money!!!" The system is fucked. End of transmission ~ no reason 2 worry or reply cause my opinion is cemented. Take every modern convenience and product away from me and I can live happily. I know b/c I've done it. Love is all that we need to survive.

Lemme just add a rhetorical phrase that happens to ring utterly true: "the possibility of progressive change through electoral-political means is now officially and completely nil".

I suggest everyone read Naomi Klein's "No Logo" and Mark Crispin Miller's "Cruel and Unusual". These 2 books are, in my humble opinion, basically the "matriarch and patriarch" of information about current world affairs.

I realize this is from quite awhile back, but I had to bring up this interesting little diatribe by Pointbreak. He called Keowyn's extremely clever and accurate statement "sloganeering" (which wouldn't negate Keowyn's argument even if it was a "slogan"). Then he goes on to write this silly little rhetorical nonsense which doesn't even begin to address 97% of the issues raised.

C'mon pro-corporate nutcases, come up with some challenging material (not intended for the EXTREME FRINGE wack-jobs to take that too literally).

How can the government serve the people (through fair laws) when the government is subserviant to the new corporate paradigm?

 

The WTO is incapable of forcing anyone into it or penalising them for backing out. Why do you think poor nations like China were so eager to get into the WTO? I suppose you never even thought about that for two seconds. Its amazing how people can make stuff up off the top of their head and get applauded here.
