Anybody else remember the BBC doing another one of these Iron Age series a few years ago? I caught a few episodes at the time, but occasionally I get the impulse to try to look it up and can't find much.
I didn't see any of the BBC series, but I had a memory that it took place at a reconstructed ancient village at a place called Butser Hill. And indeed, there is an ongoing operation there (they say for 40 years--even the reconstruction is ancient!) called Butser Ancient Farm. http://www.butserancientfarm.co.uk/
I really enjoyed that! I might not be so drastic with food, but it wouldn't be a terrible thing to live this way.
