Would skipping the book be alright? I got chills when I first saw the trailer for it, so I thought it should be pretty awesome.

Your right, there is no definition of the word "classical" that applies to the use of the word in this manner.

I usually refer to them as the "traditional" psychedelics. I think that is a little more clear in that most people are aware of those that substances that I classify as traditional, mescaline, LSD, DMT and mushrooms.
I only term it that way due to their length of use in humans, in that those ones have been the predominant or "traditional" substances used.
In another 25 years that could include some of the RC's.

 

I just got a pretty interesting course on rolling papers from the guy at the headshop. Bought some organic, non bleached hemp paper with natural glue. Apparently I will never want to smoke rzla or zig-zag again.

Now I'm looking forward to getting more to try it.

 

Shivaya: those kind of papers are awesome. They taste slightly better and are better for you.

Mr. Writer: I saw the movie and I was slightly disappointed. I agree that it is beautiful but did you not find it slightly too commercial or Hollywood-ized to truly be what it set itself up to be (namely, a movie about God)? Just my thoughts. I thought the actors were all unrealistically good-looking, the animals were too anthropomorphosized, etc. I actually did enjoy the movie, I'm not saying it was all bad by any means. But I kept getting pulled out of the spiritual meditation by the hollywood elements.

Hey guys! I miss ya'll. I haven't been around much due to the fact that I've been vacationing a lot. I spent nearly 3 weeks in Florida with the family. Stopped in Daytona to go to the beach which was my first time actually seeing the Atlantic. The waves were amazing! Then we went to Disney World, the whole shabang; Magic Kingdom (three times, once for the Christmas Party), Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and The Animal Kingdom. Also went to Universal Studios and Adventure Islands twice. I absolutely LOVED the Harry Potter part. They had Hogsmeade complete with all the little shops in the books/movies and a spectacularly HUGE Hogwarts castle. I drank some butterbeer, bought the trick jelly beans from Honeydukes and a scarf from Filch's Emporium. I was SO going to get a students robe but those bitches were 100 bux. The Marvel superheros area was badass too. Hulk rollercoaster ftw! I missed my opportunity to get a pic with The Avengers tho .

After that we meandered around Orlando and stopped at a small amusement park with the worlds tallest 'sky coaster', ya know the thing you lie down on a harness and is drawn way back and let go to soar forward. I was too scared to ride it lol. They also had the bungee ride where youre catapulted straight up. They had sweet go kart tracks and arcade.

We left there and headed to Tampa, which is a shithole btw, and hung out at the Hard Rock Casino for a night. Left there for Panama and let me tell you, I never wanted to leave! White powder sand, clear water and DOLPHINS! We got a bitchin room which had a balcony overlooking the gulf. It was breathtaking.

After much protest by me we went to Biloxi and hung out at the Grand Casino and Hard Rock there. Unfortunatly I came down with horrible bronchitis and was miserable. The beaches there are still a wreck from Katrina too which sucked.

Tmw we are headed back to the Hard Rock, which has the most awesome psychedelic decor and atmosphere ever. Color changing rainbow LEDs all inside that bitch and the rooms. Gonna take some B and play me some blackjack. I'm going back New Years Eve for their Alice in Wonderland themed party. It's gonna be so kick ass. Two party rooms, one decked out in Wonderland forest decor called The Cheshire cat room and another called the Red Queen's room which I'll prolly stay bc DJ Hyphee is spinning in that one and he is fuckin awesome.

We have a cruise to Cozumel and a trip to the Tennessee mountains coming up also.

My mom's cancer spread to her brain and she can't do anymore treatments so she is living it up. I am so happy to see her happy and grateful for these amazing experiences we are having together.

Family vacay's aside I also have A few festies in my near future which will be my FIRSTS! Buku and Zoolu in Nola and Wakarusa in Arkansas. Also possibly Ultra. Anyone else hitting up any of those?

i went to my hometown this weekend for holiday stuff, and went to an ugly sweater party. saw a guy there i haven't seen in years, and one of the first things he said was "if it wasn't for this guy, i would have never tried LSD!"

i didn't know i had influenced him so much.

 

Glad it was an appropriate venue to say such a thing, as opposed to say a church social or pta meeting.

I know the point you're making, I was using the "reduction to absurdity" techneque...

I mean, can you think of a "PSYCHOACTIVE" (mind-active) that's not addictive, that's not also "mind-manifesting"? Psychoactive/psychotropic is anything that changes how you think or feel, psychedelic, depending on your intrepertation, either manifests itself in your thoughts, or makes your thoughts more clearly manifest themselves (I think it's a mixture), but it's just taken for granted that it's not physically addictive, I don't see how the word itself forbids that.

There's another word, that the users of psychedelics tend to not like, hallucinogenic... now it's more like "psychoactive", it covers everything that makes you see shit. But some of that stuff is more borderline and not so psychedelic.

But you, in wanting a narrow definition for a broad term, probably should combine the two: you're talking about hallucinogenic psychedelics.

Really, shulgin is already giving a very narrow definition, considering how far one could run with it.

Maybe it's time for a new word? But it is very hard to define, when you say that LSD is akin to a religious experience.... heroin is very clearly pretty much god in a bag, to many people. Perhaps we could just be happy with the fact that we generally accept psychedelic to mean these chemicals?

And besides, what drug, exactly, can you think of that's not psychedelic in your consideration, but that is psychoactive and is not addictive?




*edit* "seratonergic psychedelics" (if I spelled that right) could also be the phrase you're looking for.

I leave tomorrow to go to colorado for a couple weeks. I bring with me my vape and a 10mg capsule of 2c-i.
I'm hoping I'll have a good time to take it. I haven't tripped since may but I'm curious about a low dose.

Really enjoying exploring these chemicals... there's one thing I'm scared of though and don't think I'll ever touch - opiates.

Cocaine worries me a little bit too... if I like it, it'll be one of those "once in a blue moon" things.

I may have ordered 10mg "rose" crystal too... tested it out last thursday - amazing quality acid, it's what I had my shared consciousness experience on - so am very much looking forward to exploring that further. From others remarks it seems to be sitting in with white fluff / needlepoint. I'd had some Canadian fluff a couple of weeks before and this was slightly more visual at a very similar dose... awesome stuff Looking at shroomery, seems like this stuff is doing the rounds... must be a decent recent batch :sunny:

yeah...no. Cocaine is definitely not that type of drug. I have never heard anyone being able to control a coke habbit incl myself. But damn...80% pure coke...I would love to try that.

80% pure doesn't seem to be that hard to get hold of anymore... at least with certain internet based sources. Can get hold of what looks like flake straight from the drying pan!
