Hey so I've been experimenting with meditation and binaural beats.
This is going to sound ridiculous but when I close my eyes for too long I get a little bit scared. These child-like fears I have of something is going to get me (lmfao).
Does it take practice to eventually make this go away or am I doing it wrong?

Also, I meditate better while lying down or sitting back. Sitting back makes my back tired eventually and causes me to lose focus. Does it make a difference and is this a discipline thing that takes practice as well?

    I am a noob, fyi.

    Thanks in advance !! :)

The fear is normal. Think of meditation as nothing more than a tool to the same end as a drug. The drug is a tool that changes the natural chemical balance within our minds. Meditation can do the same. Your very senses can change your chemical balance. Under stress noradrenaline is released. Serotonin has a decent amount of influence on fear and mood. I'm sure you've done a drug that caused this same sense of fear. Our thoughts, emotions, brain chemistry, drugs, experiences, and sights can all change this balance. Drugs being the easier way of influencing the mind. It can all be obtained through the great power of the mind. I have forced myself into trances, visuals, euphoria, and even fear through meditation.

Try your best to remain content. I used to feel like I was going to die. It helped to imagine that the fear was a come-up from a psychedelic. That all was right with the world, and I was just under the influence.

There's a valid scientific theory that DMT is created within the adrenal gland, which would explain why breathing meditation can cause such amazing visuals.
