i have been craving adventure and was originally going to take a trip across Canada by train next summer, but since I am a little low on cash I was thinking of taking a week or so and biking from the GTA (I live just an hour east of Toronto) to and though Algonquin, then south through Haliburton Kawarthas. I'm thinking of just bringing a little tent and sleeping bag and camping in the woods. This will be my first solo adventure so I am very excited but am looking for advice. Is it feasible? Will I be able to carry my (limited) gear? Are there any kind of precautions I should take? If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it. Thank you

Pack lots of blankets, even in the summer. The nights can get pretty cold near any of the lakes in Algonquin. I would also buy a small pack of food rations to keep in your pocket just in case you are unsuccessful at finding food to eat. One normal sized backpack is all you should need to survive in the interior but bigger is always better. It never hurts to be over prepared.
