I always have favorite postures, and always postures that I feel resistance too (usually the ones i have the most to learn from).
Just wondering what some of your favorite postures are

    Some of mine:
eagle, pigeon, tree, downward dog, warrior

I am sort of new to the whole thing. If you will, please explain to me what each posture is? If that is not too much to ask...

    Two Spirits Dancing,

Different sages/yoga masters in the past have all identified a different number of total postures that there are in existence.

The truth is, most of them declare that there are thousands of postures, even ranging into the hundreds of thousands on some account. So to explain every single pose could take a life time - in addition, I personally believe, that new poses are being created all the time as well.

But the best thiing is if people could explain just the poses they mentioned.

Better yet! Lets take pictures! I'll start a thread. . .

I like the full lotus, even though I can't do it on all days.

Hm. Tadasana, upward facing dog (easier on the body), Warrior's pose. All of these do such wonders on my knees which aren't the best.

I like the shoulder stand. I like the feeling of being upside down but I don't always like my head being upside down.

I like trying new postures though and newer ones are always favouries to practice.

No matter how long you've been doing yoga or what stage you are at there's always something new )
