Hey man I don't care too much about the whole gangster scene, but the music produced from the gangster rap era doesn't mean all rap music is bad. I will admit a lot of rap is complete rubbish such as Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Birdman, Wiz Khalifa, and others just too name a few, but there's still a lot of good rap music that goes under the radar or is too old for anyone to listen to anymore.

Personally I like rap from the early 90's to the mid 90's. If you think all rap is crap I suggest you give a listen to some of these guys:

There's a lot more that I know but I can't think of at the moment. I even would say some of Lil Wayne's stuff can be alright. His new stuff is all directed at the mainstream audience which is why it's crap. The mainstream audience doesn't care about the lyrics or message of a song, all they want is a good beat and a good hook, which in turn makes all the good rappers produce shit music that has no meaning. A good example of that would be Jay-Z and Kanye West. If you listen to their debut albums, Reasonable Doubt (Jay-Z) and College Dropout (Kanye West) you will understand what I mean. They released these albums when they were still unknown and working to get a name for themselves, so they put way more heart and soul into their work. Their lives weren't revolved around money so the songs in the album were songs that average people like me and you could relate to.

Unfortunatly as an artist gains popularity and fame they began to rap about things that aren't as relevant to us, but are still relevant to them. For example Jay-Z used to rap about his struggle of selling drugs on the street, trying to beat the heat, and working his way into the rap game. Now that he's famous he could care less about what he raps about as long as it sells and is a hit on the radio. Listen to "Dead Presidents II" by Jay-Z which is a good example of what I mean when I say he used to put his heart into his work. Compare that to something like "Run this Town" or any other song from the Blueprint III and you will notice how much he dumbs down his flow.

Sadly this is what the people want. No one wants to hear a story in the song anymore, and they could care less if the lyrics have any meaning. Now a days everyone just wants some music they can bump to and blast in the club or their car. It's a shame really, 'cause it just means that all these artists are setting their talent to the side all so they can make the top 40.

this is bluesy.. nite nite rolling.

 

This morning I woke up 5 minutes before an exam started and jogged 5.3km to school in about 30min. Not bad considering I hadn't had anything to eat as well as that I was carrying a backpack.

But it reminds me that my lungs are in shit condition every time that I really try to run. Oh well, at least coughing up lots of phlegm always feels good.

 

Finally reinstalling AoE 3 with both expansions, if i'm not on for a while you all know why lol

i wouldnt say im a nerd, just nerd friendly, anyway i use chrome. firefox at the moment is only good on the cell phone to watch flash videos.

i just scored bigtime....phoned my new provider to figure out my email etc and the bump up my package......the girl tells me that atm the tracking system is not yet up and running so i wont be charged for any usage over my 30 gigs...then she added 30 gigs free every month for a year after the tracking system is running[2 months away]

so i say ''so what you are telling me is that as soon as i am off the phone i should start downloading movies''?

she says ''yes..thats what i'm telling you''

I'm finding not having a job too be extremely stressful. I wouldn't be complaining if I didn't look for one, but I've been putting in at least 8 hours or more a week trying to search for some work. The worst part is I have to go to the methadone clinic sometime between 8:45am-4:45pm so I can't work anywhere that requires me to work through those hours. I mean if I have a job that starts at 9:30am or ends at 4:00pm I'd be set, but all the job offers I got want me to work something like a 7:30am-4:30pm shift which means I wouldn't be able to make it to the clinic in time.

I just want a job so I can move out of my house once and for all, but it just seems like this methadone program is holding me back from doing that. I know in a couple months they will give me 6 carries a week so I only have to go to the clinic once a week, but that's still a long time from now and it's not helping my situation right now.

The whole reason I went on methadone was so I'd be able to get a job without having to worry about my addiction interfering but it just seems like now the program is interfering with me even getting the job in the first place.

I guess overall it's for the better that I'm on the program, but I wish they changed their hours 'cause I know I'm not the only one whose ran into this issue.

 

Talk to your counselor and explain the situation-they may be able to move your carries. Can you do it during lunch?
