Everyone! I know this was years ago you were talking about this but have any of you actually done it? I dont think we just need a commune to escape from the rest of the world. we need to protest! Now im only 15 so i wasnt around in the 60s/70s, but i know that if the hippys back then wanted something done they would do it! the UK seriously needs sorting out. We cannot go on like this standing by and watching everyone else destory the environment and watch the government brainwash their people, we need to join together and do something about this so our children and our childrens children dont have to be born into a dying world! Please if you are reading this reply, something must be done! x
This has been an interesting thread to read. Although why is it that it appears to be riddled with one post wonders? So many posters with grandiose ideas that simply vanish after one post. Are they just people that post on here after a bad day at work or something?
I am going on a camping trip In may 2013 with some like minded people to find an ideal place far away from prying authorities . Is anyone up for joining us? I am sick of this exsistence, I go to work all day to pay rent a d tax and then have to go to the food bank ! This has been in the pipeline for a while but this year we are actually doing it. Who is in? We have been collecting equipment for a while like solar panels and survival equipment. Stock piling food and gathering seeds and fruit trees. We are ready to fi d a place and build. The plan is to build individual hobit style houses and grow your own food but also have communal food growing. The idea is that we can still be independent and have each other as a community.
hello all - I have just joined the forum after coming across this thread - this idea of setting out to develop an independant community is great - can I enquire as to what is the status of current developments? can i enquire as to how i could go about getting involved?
I am currently looking into renting or leasing some land to set up a commune. I would love to hear from some like - minded people who may be interested in this idea. I have read some comments going back over the last SEVEN years! Yet nothing seems to have come of it. Are you people serious about this concept or is this forum just a way of letting off steam? If you are serious then you need to meet somewhere to discuss and plan some course of action. LET'S GET THIS BALL ROLLING!!!!!!:
So im gunna have a roper read through all of this thread in a sec just wanted to stick a post in here , so i found this when searching through google abbout commune living. so the back story, im in a rut partly due to the economy and partly due to my own personality. and while im current;y trying something to get me out of my rut (whice i hope will work) i thought id look into plan B which for me is to take some time "out" of my life, for a year or so. I know some people may find my attitude offensive so i apologise, i know that some people love the idea of communal living permenatly but for me not soo much (that could always change if i start doing though i guess) Anyway so what im looking for is a community that i can join for a year (maybe more depending on how things go) where money isn't a driving point, where i get up each morning and work for the good of the community, (gardening, maintenance, farming whatever) and a good social aspect, communal meals and so on, im not bothered about materialistic side of things aslong as i can get my smokes each week im happy, and maybe somewhere where i can develop my spirituality. all in all somewhere we i can focus on and develop, just who i am as a person and what i want out of life.
hi yes I would like to find that also, how old is your son? mine is 7yrs old. what about yurts/tiny houses maybe in wales or dorset?
