i tend to wash my locks twice a week, depends what ive been doing/if i have time to dry them. i dont have a regular routine but im the same, i like to break that stereotype, and i make a point of telling people ive just washed my hair with actual, real, proper, normal shampoo! :O
Tweet of the day: "Caitlin Cordner @caitlinmarie54 The fact that dreadlocks are just super dirty hair makes it such a turn off." "The fact". Oh wow.
Sometimes, I just don't understand why people think dreads are so dirty. I mean they are if you use wax and neglect washing them, but that is just nasty hygiene.
The false facts are usually peddled by air-heads who don't know much about anything, never mind dreadlocks.
I created a dreadlock washing guide and it's only the 2nd stupidest thing I've done for youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzbQz98WlpQ"]Dreadlocks - Washing Dreadlocks! - YouTube
I also wanted to see how it looks to wash them, I've never seen it from that angle! Never realized how bubbly that shampoo gets, though it's exaggerated slightly because the shower water goes all bubbly white when it hits my head too.
Aaaand the drying part >< https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvdkNhMmprM"]Dreadlocks - Drying Dreadlocks! - YouTube
I cant wait till mine are about that length. Once there I will probably say I wish they were longer and longer still....
You say that now! I cut mine once or twice a year. They grow quite fast now. Over the first couple of years they barely moved, now I cut them almost in half in spring and they'll be back by winter. I cut them because they dry much faster when they're shorter and when the tips are cut off. Also they are sooo much lighter after they're cut, feels like my head is weightless. Also I know it's time to cut when I can't fit hoods over my head when it's raining.
You're so cute! Ah I noticed you have some loose hairs in the very front just like me >.< I find them so annoying!
