Not so random, but I'm taking the grand daughter to see this. It looks as if it might be a beautifully done movie, directed by Ang lee. :sunny:
It was indeed beautifully filmed, the story was interesting and I and my GD enjoyed it. I don't go into the whole deal--that's Shales job,but I recommend it. Unless you're looking for shit blowing up,etc.
No won't work I’m looking for rampaging zombies, things blowing up, college students and teenage girls being butchered, people being shot, AI becoming self-aware and exterminating their human creators, post-apocalyptic america, vampire legions, alien invasions, werewolves attacking, and most important nudity, big boobs, and gratuitous sex and violence of any and all kind :2thumbsup: Hotwater
I've just a fairly comprehensive resumé of the story and it sounds very interesting. I'll try and read the book before watching the film though.
I've never really decided whether reading and then seeing or seeing and then reading gives more pleasure or makes one better than the other. Off the top 'o my bean,I'd say see the movie first. But ,to each their own method. I do believe you will enjoy it,etherea. To come back to add: there are no restrictions on what can go into the writing of a book. The imagination is free to run. That's why, with the restrictions of movie making--I have decided--movie--then book.

So basically you’re saying this Indian kid strips down and goes native, he stalks, kills, and eats a bengal tiger, survives an earthquake, tsunami, and a volcanic eruption, then kills dozens of blood thirsty cannibals on his way to save the life of a latter day brooke shields. Once they’re together they discover a lagoon where they copulate frequently under the subtropical sun - sound pretty good :2thumbsup: hotwater
I had read the book awhile back & thought it interesting, just found out about the movie yesterday. Looking forward to watching it though I'll probably wait until its out on DVD. Trailer looks visually appealing with the animals and scenery and such.
I sometimes get so disapppointed if I read the book first and then see the movie so yeah I'll try and catch the movie first and then hopefullythe book will be a real pleasure
This is one of those movies that NEED to be seen on the BIG screen. The ocean storms are really frightening and IMO,would lose the effect on a boob tube.
i would always go for book first, then movie. i feel like if i see the movie first, then i can't help but imagine the characters how they were in the movie. i like to imagine them on my own first. the life of pi looked stupid to me. maybe it's awesome, but it just seemed silly to me that a man and a tiger could be trapped in a life boat and the tiger wouldn't eat him
No,stupid is The Expendables. Stupid is Hot Tub--whatever. Of course my beautiful is someone elses stupid. And my stupid is someone elses idea of a great time. So it goes. You should give it a try--see how you like it.
