I just got my nose pierced two days ago, high nostril on both sides.
I don't know very much about nose piercings so i'm out here looking for some help.
The left side seems to be doing perfectly fine. On the right side, the stud is sinking into the piercing hole. I can see that on the inside there's what i guess is swelling, it looks like more like a bump around the hole but farther up my nose. I guess this is keeping the screw from sitting well and pulling it farther in.
I'm afraid that this is going to be harmful to my new piercing. I figure that i should probably go back to the shop and have the screw adjusted but it is a ways to the piercer and i don't drive. I'm wondering if there's anything i can do to help this bump/swelling go down. I've positioned the screw somewhat awkwardly at the moment to keep it from pulling through my nose, i'm also afraid that might be irritating it.
Maybe i'm just worrying too much, but i really love the piercings and don't want to have any problems. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hey there! Sounds like you have a super common issue with your nose. Those little bumps are called keloids and can last a very long time, even on well taken care of piercings. What are you using to clean it? Is it causing you much pain? Many times people think their piercings are infected when they're just going through the healing process. I would keep cleaning it a couple times a day with a sea salt soak, and a little bit of jojoba oil (healing miracle). If you're still worried after a week or so, take the trek back to your piercer and have them take a look at it.

I had the exact same thing when I got mine done! I did end up going back and the piercer said the post wasn't long enough for swelling room. She took it out, made the post longer and (extremely painfully) put it back in.

Also, make sure you are using the salt water soaks, and make sure you are using the proper measurements.

I suggest going back to the piercer, cause mine said it would have started to grow over the stud if I left it alone. You will be thankful you did.
