So you don't think it's bad when people waste their lives obsessing over the latest "Jersey Shore", or form aggressive mobs trying to get the newest iPhone/iPad? We, as humanity, are here for a purpose. As much as I agree with live and let live, we should inform each other and not be ignorant. Follow the hippie philosophy. And the fact that Google is developing a technology that'd be so closely interfering with our brains is just plain creepy. Talk about taking brainwashing to the next level....
I think it's a waste of time, but if they're genuinely happy, then I don't really care, as long as they aren't hurting anyone else. I think it's stupid, but I'd you want to be stupid, then go nuts.

This is really great news about google eyeglasses that can display Google's android operating system. Amazing to hear that in eyeglass we can see android operating system
Apple will have to acquire a patent on reading glasses first so they can sue anyone that sells anything that even looks like glasses.
In a way I'm surprised to see most of the comments here, but in another way I'm not surprised at all... Like it or not, technology is moving forward exponentially. I've been reading a lot of Kurzweil (and others) lately and the more I think about it, the more I think he is right; the singularity is near. Don't get me wrong I definitely think Kurzweil's time-frame is a little off, I think 20 years is a little optimistic (I think he just wants to be alive to see it happen), but regardless I think its coming.... In either regard, the world is going to be unrecognizable in just 50 years from now.... 100 years from now even more so. I've resisted technology for such a long time... When I stumbled upon Kurzweil and started reading more and more about the exponential growth of technology, I've started to warm up to it a little more. I think the implications it has for health and wellbeing are astronomical... Disease, hereditary conditions, mental problems, etc will be a thing of the past. Once we map the human brain completely (down to each individual neuron) we will have all the keys to fix a lot of major problems in our world, whether they are environmental, social, illness, etc. One of our biggest problems is our size; there a very few ways to have a sustainable increasingly developed world with 6 or 7 billion people... There are simply way too fucking many of us. The way I see it and the more and more I think about it, the more I start to believe that technology is the ONLY practical way out of this mess that human beings have got ourselves into. The state of global affairs seems pretty perilous right now and I find it hard to believe that people are just going to wake up one day and completely change the way they are living, changing their actions and ideologies for the better, letting go of a destructive way of living.... It would take a major event that is essentially so earth-shattering it forces people to wake up and realize we cannot go on like this... and the way I see it, I'm not so sure thats going to happen short of nuclear war or something crazy. People are just wayyyy to comfortable, way too attached to their way of life and will do ANYTHING to cling to that. So the more I think about it, the more I research and the more I study and read, the more I think this could be what technology is here for; to save or species (or destroy it, if destruction technology ends up prevailing). Technology is leading us toward a global community. My hope is that it will end nationalism... I think that eventually we will get to a point where it will seem absolutely ridiculous that at one point in time you couldn't step onto this piece of land because your from America and this is North Korea... and I don't think the time frame of this is actually that far off... Of course we tend to think of time in the frame of a human life, years, decades, etc. But think 300 years really isn't that long from now in geological time, and who can say how crazy the world will be by then. Unfortunately, I think a lot is gonna have to change politically and socially around the globe to allow this to happen. Shit like that has huge potential to hinder us .... My hope is that it will continue to dissolve boundaries and tear down borders. However, my one contention can be summed up in two words; destruction technology. Unfortunately a lot of major breakthroughs we have now (cell phones, internet, etc) came first from military R&D. If it bleeds it leads, so to speak, and that has to change if we want to make it long enough to reach our salvation through technology and possibly the singularity. Its a double edge sword, sure. However I do think technology has the potential to save our species and dig us out of this catastrophic mess we have created. Sorry, I know I didn't really address the google glasses... However inventions like these I think are necessary for the progression towards singularity and potential salvation... I am not saying they don't have tremendous potential to go wrong, they certainly do... I guess I'm just trying to be optimistic.
