Tell me what you think of Tom Waits

Sipping his secret elixir from a brown paper bag, leaving a dizzying trail of creativity in his wake. Is he paranoid, or simply prudent? The metaphors one could use to describe its variant incarnations on Bad AS Me alone could outnumber those written by an entire semester's worth of university poetry students.

 

I love Tom Waits. Can't sing a lick but has great music.

He's along the lines of Neil Young and Johnny Cash. Not dissing them at all, just making and observation.

 

well, you're saying (and im gunna paraphrase this cuz this is how i understood to your last comment) that tom waits has no musical abillity at singing. the fact is that he is the only person in the world who can sing like he does which qualifies him as having a unique musical range with his singing voice that is highly valued to many people and musicians. so in short, he can sing very well.

 

You really making this way to difficult you know.

I love him as a person, his intellect speaks to me to be sure. As a musical mind, I can't really get with it. It feels almost sarcastic at times and any hint of that in anyone's music I cannot get along with.

Coming from a person that takes music far too seriously for the above to be considered a rational thought.

 

I'd be more impressed if he did something.
