    Hi.
As you are all sayin not to get dreads done by a "pro" I was wondering if there are any memebers of this forum that would start my dreads for me and I would pay ofc,but let me know only if you know how to do it well, and since I'm not on this forum really often you can just contact me on facebook...I live in Sterling Heights, but I'm sure distance wouldn't be a problem and please don't replay me with "you can do them yourself bla bla bla.." If I could've,I would've done it already,so please help, because I've never done anything with my hair and I really want to start dreads.

    Thanks.

I think people are confused when they say not to get them done by a 'pro'. What they are probably meaning to say is, not to get them done at a salon. Most of the time, salons don't specialize in dreadlocks, nor do they have much experience(there are some salons that have 'lockticians', but it's rare)...so you end up paying a ton for someone who *may* not have much experience in what they are doing. There are some people who work out of home, like myself, who could be considered 'pro' because of experience, and why wouldn't you want someone who knows what they are doing, to create your dreadlocks? /rant

    this.

you do not need to do anything to get dreads - natural/neglect is called that for a reason.

i appreciate you dont know what youre doing.. i was at that stage once, but you need to get over the initial 'holy shit what if it goes wrong' thoughts and just go for it :)

That's how I feel about it too.
It might be weird to think you can section them off and do whatever method you want to by yourself but it's really really easy once you figure it out. I mean, it's dreads! They're meant to be messy and creative.

    You could do them yourself.

Or you could let them do it themselves.
