cost of living is decently cheap and so is pot, but also i feel like i could run off to the wilderness and live off deer and squirrel fif i had to. ive never killed nor hunted. I've been fishing a few times but never caught a fish.

however, i was born here in dayton ohio, in 1983. this city, as also my family heritage, has been prosperous in ingenuity and production of stuff since the beginning of the industrial age. Dayton ohio is now like a little detroit. GM is gone, which, oddly enough, had nothing to do with my immediate family.

I feel like if society collapses, I have many choices of remote wooded ares like railways and bike paths that i could just go to and set up my new apocalyptic domicile and defend against crack smokers and looters.

i guess my thoughts are cut off now.

    any thoughts?

animal protein is not the largest part of a successful living off the land diet.

Growing up in Upper Michigan I'd have no problem living off the land. I've got 80 acres with a stream running through it. Lots of trees to build a log cabin. Couple of good size fields to grow some crops.

I know how to fish and hunt and I live in a super rural area where there are plenty of opportunities to forage and hunt for one's own food, there is also a lot of water here and I know all the local edible plants.

So yeah, I am super prepared for the eventual collapse of society!

    P.S. I love exclamation points!

It is a lot harder to make it through the winter without it though...

Where I live it would work to just live off of vegetables because here on the coast we can grow a lot of things year round, but other places it would be a lot harder. Sure there would still be roots, but it would be nice to have animal protein as well.

I love living in a place where you look for (and smell for) bears when you go out the door...and driving down the road knowing there's always a chance to see a moose

We have the bears... but no moose, it is just too far south for that. But I do love moose a lot!

i think i would miss winter if i lived in a place where it never snowed. would be pretty cool to have an orange tree though. but we got apples. i also had a wild pear tree and a planted plum tree as a kid. well...my dad has em.
