I had a friend who I would say was addicted to games. It's difficult to understand because it's not like a chemical addiction but people who know that person can still feel that same feeling of a lost friend. But of course it's much easier to quit then something like heroin because there is not that chemical dependency. Game addiction is an example of people like to do things that make them feel good. I like video games too, but I like playing games that you can beat, eventually there is nothing more to do in the game, you get bored. The MMO's are not like this, and that is the problem. A certain type of person gets into them and looses touch with the real world. But let me tell you from personal experience when you know people who play those World of Warcracft type games literally every moment they are not at work, and then expect the unemployed gf to play for him while he is at work, yeah that is a problem. The only way they spent any time together is because she made a character in the game. Going over to his house meant watching him play this game. It got to the point he was lieing to people about being injured and unable to walk just so he could play the game and not be asked to go out.
