I was just wondering if anyone found therapy useful or insightful. I've got a couple problems wth I was told to just accept that I was let down by a fight or flight response in a close relationship and my other examples of distrust was pretty unreasonable. I can't accept that and I still feel awful so I wonder if I try another therapist or whatever, I'll just hear the same stuff. I guess I wouldn't mind trying another. Well bottom line I'm just wondering if anybody has actually felt like therapy for depression has helped them at all, cause I just feel like I'm hearing obvious stuff, or even having my level of conciousness or awareness insulted.

Maybe I should not talk though cause I love to drink very heavily a few days a week. I just love to be enebriated and even high and it's one of my few joys. My therapy days are long gone and I v never really let on how bad drug problem is during that time I wonder if they'd say anything that'd make me really want to stop. Cause I can't really think of a reason right now.

The drinking and the drugs are certainly not helping.

I think therapy can work, yes, but you need to find the right therapist for that. It's kind of like medication - everyone is different so what works for you might not work for another and vice verse. At the end of the day you are the one that will be your savior - the therapist is sort of a guide.

Do you know why you feel depressed? How are you living your life right now as to work/relationships/diet/exercise/sleep?

Youre not ''fucked in the head'' though.
You are coping with the shitty hand that you were dealt.
You can also be unbelievably happy if you choose :afro:

I think it can work for some people. Unless you try you won't know. Alcohol and drugs don't work just help you run away for a while. Eventually you have to deal with whatever craps bothering you!

Give it a go. You've nothing to lose!:)
