Should not your beliefs ring of truth? should they include justice? reasonableness?

I am talking of beliefs, where with a gun to your head and a finger on the trigger to denounce your faith, you still stand strong and allow your faith to be your choice no matter what.

Where you know, man can kill you, but God can bring you back to life..

    Are your beliefs that strong?

I'm a man of reason, not of faith.

I suspect either way, if they aren't, then one doesn't really believe them right?

I believe , we all have a soul that survives death of the body . After death we go to a level of the astral plane , and have a choise in being reincarnated . This does not mean that I want a gun pointed to my head and being killed . A few people have had n.d.e. experences http://www.coasttocoastam.com/show/2012/09/30 , and some can astral travel to these areas , so there is some proof . desert rat

I am completely unsure of my beliefs. In fact, I have hardly any beliefs at all in the religious/spiritual sense. The space in my head most people fill up with weird ideas about things neither they themselves nor anyone else will ever be able to prove or disprove, is filled with shifting notions that come and go and rearrange themselves all the time. I try not to rely on them for anything, because they are immaterial and their definitions are as subjective and meaningless as the shape of a thin cloud.

What I believe, and what you believe, about what (if anything) happens after death or in the invisible "spirit world" is inconsequential except to the person believing it. The moment you start to think that you have an idea that's so good you just have to let somebody else in on it, you become a missionary. And missionaries are, invariably, assholes. And their sex is boring. So why be one?

I believe that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs... Until one of them points a gun at my head. Then I'm just going to have to begin ripping faces off.

Though I'm sure that I'm not sure about it. I'll stand by that until the day I die.

Gun at my own head, yes I'd state my beliefs.

Gun to my child's or husbands head? I'll say anything you want...

  14. I'm just kind of a dope. Like people will say thing to me and I'll be like, "What are you talking about? I don't understand."

What about you MyLee, How firm and confident are you in your beliefs?
You ask a lot of loaded questions designed to insinuate that those who don't believe as you do are doomed to Hell or whatever.
(I'm talking about the general demeanor and thrust of most of your posts, not just this one)

But in my experience it is those who portray such a front as you have been putting forth in your persona here, that are actually uncertain of their beliefs, but not secure enough to venture beyond the paradigm such belief prescribe.
Therefore you bolster your insecurity and uncertainty by prompting others to edify or re-affirm your faltering personal belief system by asking loaded questions such as this threads main idea.

I have a pretty good handle on what I believe to be reality/true and it it really doesn't quit fit into any one particular box or another, and I'm pretty certain I'm way off on some things, and completely wrong about others.
But hey, I'm content and happy with that and it is something that is organic and flowing same as life is. Ever emerging and ever changing, yet always the same comfy chair to come home too.

If you don't understand that, then you just don't get "it".

As far as putting a gun to my head to renounce my beliefs,
pfffff as if I'm afraid of death....:smilielol5:

If someone did have a gun to your face it wouldn't even really matter what you believed in. Lets face it, gun to your face and all of sudden god ain't gonna be the thing I'm thinking of. And it'd be over so quickly it wouldn't matter. It just wouldn't matter.

Nothing is certain, not even that. I'm willing to stand up for the things I bet on on the basis of reasonable suspicion, but probably not to the point of death, unless it would be to protect some innocent person or my significant other, or possibly to avert what I consider to be a serious injustice.
