Reading about the Baha'i faith was an eye-opener to me, especially the message of peace and the relation between religion and science. But I must admit I'm not that enthusiastic anymore. I believe their teachings but I have had enough of organised religion for now, I can think for myself. I do consider myself a baha'i sometimes, but not always.

I remember visiting the bahai'i temple in New Delhi a few years ago. It is really beautiful. The temple is shaped like a lotus and in the night it lights up and has fountains and stuff. its really lovely. Within the shrine the sense of quiet and peace is very very strong. Beautiful deep vibrations that are so very conducive to meditation.

On the point of prejudice, communities everywhere in every religion show prejudice of some kind or the other. This is a basic human failing. However, I am certain that the essence of all religious teachings speak against such prejudice, at least if properly understood.

*Now to wait for the barrage of stone throwers who will yell at me for suggesting that we are all really looking for the same thing in different ways*

And by the way, I accept the prophet of the Bahai'i faith as a manifestation of God. I believe everything from the largest galaxy to the smallest neutrino, all that is created is a manifestation of the One Supreme.

Here's the Bahai temple in Delhi which I will be visiting when I go over there in March. People of all religions and faiths and free to enter and pray or meditate in silence according to their own religion.

Also as ever Bhaskar has made some excellent points, I however won't be throwing any stones in his direction! :)

To me it is more beautiful than the Taj Mahal.

Indeed it is very beautiful...i was there when it was offically opened. As it turns out, the temple wouldnt be there if it wasnt for a generous bahai. There was a farmer who inherited a large sum of money from his father, and the lotus temple was nearly finished at that time. But near the end of its construction, the bahai fund for the temple ran short a good sum of money. This generous man, who had inherited all this money, generously donated every penny of his inheritance to the fund for the competion of the temple. If it wasnt for this common farmer who inherited money, the temple would not of been completed. The farmer choose to give his money for the completion of the temple rather than living a life of luxury. The temple is indeed a very holy place (as everybody will tell you who has been there).
