This is one of the big misconceptions. Many people HAD come forward when he was still alive. In the 70s and 80s etc, paedophilia esp in childrens homes etc was condoned, and claims ignored. Savile had friends in low places so got away with it later on, as have numerous MPs etc. Search the web, especially with engines other than google(which is censored crap) and you'll see how much filth he got up to. Even recently, Ian Hislop was repeatedly calling him a "cancer ridden paedophile" infront of 1000 people in a studio. Savile didn't even bother to deny it. You only need see how the Hillsborough disaster was covered up infront of 50 000 witnesses to see how certain people can cover up the truth in Britain. Its much like the nonce ring that was recently uncovered in Belgium. If Savile was prosecuted, he would have blown the whistle on his friends. So the Establishment waited til he was dead to start having the press run with the fact. But make no mistake, none of this was in any way a secret.
It certainly seems from the evidence currently in the public domain that Saville had a fondness for the younger girls, something he made no secret of it would appear. Having watched the ITV programme though some of the eye witness accounts didn't really make any sense. Particularly the woman describing Saville with his left side towards her and his right hand up a girls skirt with his tongue in her mouth. He was a pensioner, not a piece of jelly, he would have been made of elastic to have been in the position she described. Undoubtedly for every true claim that is made, there will be many people jumping on the band wagon to get the publicity and making things up. It seems the British public operate their own peculiar justice system... If something happens here in the UK then the suspect is automatically assumed guilty. If it happened abroad then the authorities over there are corrupt and the accused is always innocent. The man is dead, he's not going to be reoffending. Maybe the authorities would be better catching those that were assisting him and still up to their tricks rather than investigating Saville. Convicted or not, he's still dead and not doing it any more, and it still doesn't detract from the good works he did while he was alive, even if it was to satisfy his guilty conscience.
