    Anybody an e-reader fan?
    Love it?
    Hate it?
    How come?

I freakin' love my Kindle. Don't get me wrong, I still love my old fashioned books, it's a prerequisite to be a Librarian. ;)

But I love the convenience of it.

    Anyone else?

Books... I like the way they collect dust on the shelves.

I have this copy of Utopia, I've read it at least a dozen times, and I bought it used, so it's full of not only my notes, but some other blokes too - it's dog-eared and I had to tape the spine/cover/back to keep it together. That book is awesome. :D
I also have a copy of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" like that as well. :D

The site www.pixelofink.com is a great place to get free e-books, I'm constantly downloading from there.
    Worth a check. :D

    Hello,

I don't own such a device. I like the haptic perception of books and how they smell. And often my rights as a paying customer, how I can use the e-book for instance, are much more restricted with e-books compared to real books. So e-books are not made for me I think.

    Regards
    Gyro

I LOVE books...the smell, the way they feel, knowing I can flip the pages, etc.

But I bought a Nook and I must say, having over 2 million books at the tips of my fingers whenever I choose really makes me happy. I still have a lot of books on my shelves, but the Nook has kept my shelves rather clean since I got it last summer :D

I ended up buying a kindle touch last week. It's good but I don't feel like I've bought a book.

I'm looking into a Kobo-it has access to our libraries as well. tired of dealing with old dusty books lying around the house, running out of books, not having time to get to the library, mega options from home. wanna read it again, just do it, all in one clean place

Yup, sitting in your favorite chair, sipping your favorite non alcoholic bevvie, and reading a paper book is pretty cool.

Going to the book store, flipping through the now dwindling selections, will be history, just like the way of record stores.

and it s a bitch for certain sectors of the economy.

But I want to keep reading into my 60's and 70's and without a reader there won't be a place to buy

I tend to do most of my reading in the bath so using a Kindle would be as dangerous as Storm-chasing for me.

I have an eReader, got it when I had a surgery last year that kept me off my feet for a prolonged period of time. I've read more books since getting that than I have in the last two years, I swear!

In California the public libraries have an eBook lending program in conjunction with Amazon. You need a library card to participate, and then it's free.

I love my Kindle, and the convenience of having the next book available whenever and wherever you are, can't be beat. I love it, and, while I have always been a reader, I read much more than I used to because it is just so convenient.

I have a kindle fire, and I love it, but only for internet surfing and comics. I just enjoy the physical feel of a book, so I'd choose reading a real book rather than a kindle any day.

I was bought a kindle for my birthday and I love it. most classic literature is free! I have found myself reading so much more than before. I would love to have shelves and shelves of books but space is at a premium, so having them all on one handheld device great. Also another bonus is people dont know what you're reading :)
I do miss going to bookshops though, thats the only downside for me.

I have a kobo and I love it! Won't go back after having one. They are so convenient I got so sick of having to throw away so many books everytime I moved overseas! Never has to happen again!
