well i am not quite sure what you mean by "addicted yo CAPS"

if you type everything you say using CAPS, it is considered to be "shouting" or "yelling" at someone, But Typing The First Letter Of Every Word With A Capital Letter Is Annoying To Read :)

would'nt 'd translate to "laugh out loud did" or laugh out loud do"?

like how'd is not howed... its how did/do

otherrwise it should just end in ed

Yeah, the internet has basically brainwashed people into typing short forms of words. Even in real life people my age will say "Bee arr bee" instead of "Be Right Back". It's like... really?

HOWEVER, I do give the internet props for bitching enough at the "your" and "you're" problem a lot of people seem to have. Ever since the online spam of grammer haters, brothas don't really do it anymore. ... :)

Guilty of your/you're and there/they're. I think I do it for speed. I am even worse when i'm on my mobile/cell phone.

my god you came in here just to correct one letter that i accidentally typed wrong ???

believe me, i know how to spell Osteoarthritis, having surgery on the hand on november 2, and i will be without use of the hand for 2 months.

little errors like that happen sometimes.

You're allowed to nitpick in a thread about grammar.
It's one of the few places where it isn't pedantic.

no need to be sorry, i just thought it was a bit strange, then i thought about the corrections i have been making in other members typo's and thought your post was pretty much acceptable after all :)

"there" is not the same as "they're"

there as in "go over there" (a place) or there goes another car.

they're is an abreviation for they are.

On the Net and on informal emails, I can't really give a fuck about grammar etc.
In the past I've spent too much time writing, and can't be bothered to spend correcting whatever rubbish I wrote in a couple of seconds.

However, on proper emails/letters eg business settings, bad spelling, grammar etc makes me think "Christ I'm dealing with a fuckbrain". So I do lose faith in their ability, and maybe even intelligence.

But writing shittily (yes, I know that isn't a word) can infect your "proper" writing too, if you aren't careful.

The Net and texts etc have their own grammar to be effective, IMO.

    Hello,

ah, there they're, all the grammar nazis ;). Yepp, I make typos, like almost everyone else. But... there is a difference between typos and being, let' say sloppy. I tend to not to answer emails, requests, etc., that are written in my native tongue and that are that sloppy.

    Regards
    Gyro

I think we are allowed to make mistakes here, as English is not our first language.

    Hello,

yes, but it is embarrassing nonetheless if so simple things like thing vs think go wrong. That happens all the time to me if I'm tired.

I'm fine with people using LOL, BTDTGTT and friends in this medium. Even though some people don't seem to know how to use it, eg.:

    A: My hamster is dead.
    B: LOL

It happens all the time that someone answers with LOL and it doesn't even remotely make sense to me.

    Regards
    Gyro
