A romantic, a dreamer, I still search for you, Though my hope slowly, Evaporates, I cling, desperate and weary, To a simple truth, If I am here, then Surely, you are there My virgin love, I have saved for you, I have found solace, In the arms of others, Have uttered those sacred words And made myself believe, My attempts ending, inevitably, In failure, For how can I love another, When I have always loved you Yet time, in its swift advance, Shakes my faith, Am I to wait? How long? Perhaps I will meet you on my deathbed, My one and only, You weep, I brush the tears away, Our souls dance, make love For an eternity
I thought this was well thought out and placed. The only thing was that I think you could have shown some of this tension other than saying it rather well.
