Out of the six actors that have played 007 (not counting Barry Nelson or David Niven), which one is your favorite? Since I grew up with Pierce Brosnan, I have a soft spot for him and he is my personal favorite. Anyway, please vote and let me know! That being said, get ready for Skyfall hitting theaters November 9th!
I chose Daniel Craig; because I think he's the best embodiment of all of Bond's facets. However, Roger Moore is my personal favorite if you consider who has had the best adventures instead. I think Pierce Brosnan was by far the worst Bond; and don't like a single one of the movies he's in (and he was the Bond when I grew up too). I didn't actually like Bond films until I saw older ones; starting with the original Dr. No; and I don't even like Sean Connery's Bond much =P
Brosnan. Goldeneye my favourite movie, the tank chase a classic. I've liked the Craig ones, even though he's not very bond like, he,s the most action orientated Bond and Skyfall looks very physically action packed
I thought Die Another Day was his weakest film after the first 45 minutes. It had a lot of potential; especially at the beginning when he gets his cover blown in North Korea. But where the film went down hill was when the Ice Palace comes into play...How ridiculous. The fencing scene between Bond and Graves was pretty awesome though.
Has to be Sean Connery. But Craig is good, even if he as an actor didn't know how to play poker before shooting.
I pretty much appreciate all Bond actors except Daniel Craig. Although the only movie with Brosnan I really dig is Goldeneye, he just is the typical Bond I like to see even though the rest of his Bond movies were kind of lame. The character still stands in my opinion, same with all the others. I may have an unreasonable dislike for Craig as Bond but both the Bond character as the movies put me off the Bond series so much I have not even been keeping up with the last one and the one to come (Skyfall). Can't be bothered, would rather watch the old ones.
I voted Daniel Craig but I have watched Sean Connery's Bond back when it was relevant and not too removed from Flemings agent 007, when the Cold War intrigues were palpable. (I actually watched From Russia With Love while stationed near Istanbul in '65 had been to those locations). But, Craig is now the more relevant modern secret agent. Classics are good but ultimately dated.
It was Dalton until Brosnan then Brosnan until Craig. I have not watched many Connery outings they look a little too dated for my taste. Moore - bless him - was a joke and his films terrible. Apart from when he defuses the circus bomb - I guess that bit was ok.
Connery, by a landslide. Although I like Daniel Craig a lot too. I don't like gadget bond, Peirce Brosnan sucked.
Craig is the worst Bond in my opinion. He lacks style, charm and "bond manners". He's more of a "die hard action hero". For me there is only one Bond- sir Connery. Brosnan was ok too.
I totally agree with you. Craig is more the typical American action hero who just happens to be British. The other James Bond's had charm, charaisma and were able to kick ass while not looking like they could. Craig, looks like he is ready to kick ass on default and is one to kill first and ask questions later. He just doesn't look like James Bond to me. When he was first chosen for the part, I was pretty pissed because I was hoping that Brosnan was going to come back. After seing Craig in his two movies, I have tried my best to accept him as Bond...but it's just not really working for me. I tried to accept him as Bond, but I mean...ugh it's just annoying. Like that Greenday song goes, "You can't go forcing something if it's just not right."
It's such a shame they didn't pick Clive Owen, I think that he has all the "ingredients" for Bond role. Btw, at the time local newspapers wrote that Goran Višnjić was candidate for the role, but I'm sure it was only stupid gossip. Although, it would be really cool if actor from my country got main role in a big blockbuster. He's good actor, but there will always be barrier in pronunciation. You can hear that he's not native speaker. We have another great theatre/tv actor who made noticeable Hollywood carrier, but they always pick him to play Russian/Soviet bad guys just because he's not able to perfect his english pronunciation level.
Roger moore was in the first bond movie I saw and he was my favorite ever since. I think casin royale was my favorite movie but that could be that I saw all the others as a kid. Except that quantum whatever that just came out...that was the only bond movie that I didnt like. Just a god awful movie. I watched with a friend and his wife. My friend fell asleep and his wife left halfway through it. I watched the whole thing thinking its bond its got to get better but it didnt until the credits rolled.
Yeah, Quantum of Solace just wasn't good. It had it's moments though. I didn't like how it was a direct sequel to Casino Royale and the whole feel of the film reminded me of a Jason Borune film. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm as much of a fan of the Jason Bourne movies as the next person, but you can't mix Bond with Bourne. I mean, look at how much of a hit Casino Royale was and there was no shaky camera or anything of the sort. But yeah, I am really hoping that Skyfall is going to be his best, if not his second best after Casino Royale.
I think they all did a pretty good job apart from Dalton who took the whole thing too seriously. Craig is the better actor out of them all but the least glamorous.
