Ever had a good pumpkin beer? There are lots of good ones out there this time of year. My favorite is Pumking, which is made by the Southern Tier Brewing Co. here in NY. It is an imperial pumpkin ale that clocks in at 8.6% ABV. I would have to say it ranks among my top 5 all-time favorite beers, so if you come across it, pick up a bottle or two. You will thank me.

Oh, and I am not even a huge fan of pumpkin. I really don't even like pumpkin pie, but I love this beer.

I hate pumpkin and pumpkin pie, but I like pumpkin spice coffee. I don't think I've ever had a beer.

Im not a fan at all of pumpkin beer but I have tried many because I like pumpin pie. When I finally given up on them I went to a local brewery. (evolution craft brewery) and asked for a sampler. One of the samples was thier pumpkin beer and I have finally found one I like. Since then if there is a brewer I really like I will take a chance on thier pumpin beer and have found a couple more that were ok but not good enough to ever try again. I think I had the pumpking but I drink so many diferent beers that many beers I cant say for sure if I have had them before or not.

You're such a proud, non-vagina-having man. Must be why you say prickish things.

not sure why pumpkin beer is only for those of us that bear a vagina...

though my wife does really like pumpkin beers.

i've had several pumpkin beers, rat, but i can't recall my favorite. apparently none were great enough for me to remember them.

we have a couple of these in the fridge...the buffalo bill's brewery ones that were mentioned above. from canada, nothing to do with football

Saranac beers are pretty weak for the most part... almost like a macro version of craft beer styles.

Anyway, the best three pumpkin ales I've had so far are by Great Lakes, Smuttynose and, of course, the aforementioned Southern Tier.

Otherwise, I am not a HUGE fan of the style. However, I notice there are way more pumpkin beers on the market today than there was just three years ago.

I wish I could get some of that pumking here. The local brewery here, Six Rivers Brewing makes a pumpkin ale, but they don't bottle it and somehow I always go there just when they have run out of it...

I tried some Blue Moon pumpkin ale recently... not that great.
