About a year ago afoaf was picking fresh psilocybin mushrooms, and put about 30g wet weight into a jar and sealed it and hasn't opened since. Its been about a year, give or take a month, and theres liquid on the bottom of the jar with the mush material on the bottom. My question is....what is the liquid and is it something to trip off of?
I dont think so.,. ive had mushroom bags i forgot about, fruit and fruit and then just turn to liquid in the bag.. its very nasty smell. you should throw it away.. On second thought,. for science you should eat some..
I've been pondering it, its been sealed, no bacteria has had a chance to get in.....the jar was sterile when they were put in to be stored.....Could be pretty potent or could be bunk...What to do, what to do
Also....i know that mushrooms are soluble in water, and that mushrooms are 90+% water anyways, so would the water content of the mushroom be pulled into the jar along with the psilocybin?
see I had some bags with substrate in them .. the growing material. not just the shrooms. you can try it. its certainly not going to kill you anymore than spoiled milk.
My guess is they are garbage, probably too broken down to be any good. But I could be wrong so try a shot of the juice and see what happens.
^yeah^ i foresee him doing a trip report though lol. i just foresee it WOAH, ok i just noticed orison's pic. lol wtf
Im thinkin about it. Im keepin this up on the computer, waiting for more feedback on what COULD happen. Or maybe someone else's bright idea to try it might chime in.
Open the jar and sniff it.... i am willing to bet you wont want to eat any after you get a whiff of that foul bacteria soup you have been growing. Even if the jar was sterile.... the mushrooms were not. I recommend you open the jar.... fill it with bleach and then pour the contents into the nearest toilet.
Does anyone know how long shrooms can be stored? I am going to do acid and shrooms soon (wanted to do acid this weekend but the dude flaked out) but I think I want to do the acid first because I know it doesn't store the greatest. Can anyone tell me if they will still be good in say, 2 or 3 weeks if I get them on Monday?
As long as you keep both dry, away from oxygen, heat and light they can be stored for years. I just did some mushrooms that I grew 4 years ago and they knocked my and two friends egos into the dirt at only 2 grams (they actually complained that they were too powerful). The mushrooms had been ground up and packed in capsules, vacuum packed in mylar foil bags and stored in the freezer immediated after they were properly dried. I give acid the same treatment (minus the capsules) and it stays fresh for years.
Oh yeah You have to dry them cracker dry as soon as you pick them. Fan dry them for a day or so and then into a air tight desiccant chamber for a few days until they are so crispy they turn to powder if you crush them (like a cracker)
