hey when you blow out speakers does everything just suddenly go quiet? i was listening to my radio i think i blew out my 8 speakers. i had it up loud than it all went quiet.
It would sound like a really high pitched "pop". Check all the connections for your system, then hook up all your speakers to another amp/system (if you can) to see if it's the case...I sure hope it isnt..cuz replacing 8 isnt cheap Maybe your amp died and not the speakers??
Sometimes if you have more speakers hooked up than are supposed to be in the reciever the sound will just go off completely. I used to hook up 4 speakers when there was only supopsed to be 2 and it would do that. Of course afterwards it should work again.
it depends sometimes when you blow out a speaker they get really grainy and shitty sounding (small hole) but sometimes they just stop working (big hole)
sometimes you get a bang and then smoke...sometimes a pop then an enormous nuclear explosion wiping out the population of england
Amps are easy to check to see if they've been blown, look for the big heatsink and look for burn marks or melting on the transitors that are attached to the heatsink.
