Gay men are not the slutty, feminine, child-molesting monsters the anti-gay extremists make us out to be. No big surprise, but good to see an article that discredits these stereotypes with actual data:

Yeah but there is no use 'debunking' the bullshit of anti gay extemists with more bullshit

First off - Dr. Justin J. Lehmiller - Social Psychologist & Sex Columnist. A social psychologist with a whole bunch of letters after his name, is just going to assume he knows more on this than everyone else, put up the pretense amongst his peers for grants jobs etc, not really listen to anyone not accedited - the usual economics of such as position. But then in contrast is a social columnist, so in the business of attention grabbing headlines and articles.

The ultra conservatives and bible thumpers down one end who really only represent a few percent, and the gay militants down the other end, and yes some of them can be very miltant, who also only represent a few percent.

Then there is everybody in between, say 90%, who really dont give a shit. As for those 90%, these 'myths' are just the public version, just cos they dont bother talking about it or arguing, or care, doesnt mean anyone them really believe this stuff.

MYTH #1: Gay men sleep around a lot more than straight men - This one is the same as the myth Men sleep around more than Women. Just cos males are more likley to make claims and brag about it. Women are more likley to vocalise Men are all pigs, whilst keeping their sneaky stuff secret. Doesnt make any of it true.

MYTH #2: Gay parents raise gay children - this one is just nonsense, no one believes this shit. Part of the attention grabbing aspect of Dr Millers social columnist status

MYTH #3: Gay men are inherently feminine and lesbians are inherently masculine. - This one will always be this way, for the opposite is just too threatening. Again just cos no one talks about it doesnt mean this is actually the myth. Its not like you are ever going to sit down with your kid and explain that the big scary hairy guy two doors down, that his 'flatmate' is like mummy and the big one like doing things to the little one kind of the same way Daddy likes doing things to Mommy. Freddy Mercury was gay, really? with teeth like that, even makes gay guys wince and cross their legs

MYTH #4: Most child molestors are gay men. - Majority of kiddy fiddlers are close relations to the kid, trying convincing some bible thumper spouting family values of that


MYTH #5: Gay couples assign one partner to be the “husband” one partner to be the “wife.” - A: So what B: Every relationship theres a submissive one and a Dominant one, you cant have exactly equal. What does his one have to do with anything.

For Gay people its hardest as kids or teens, especially in rural settings, where you are the only gay in the village. As for the Data, the suicide rate speaks for itself. It would be GLBTs biggest problem. Yet how much effort does GLBT itself put into tackling that problem? And how on earth would you fix it if no one knows where they are, no one around them understands, they themselves arent even sure, they dont show up as a statistic, until they become one.

And in extreme cases it has a lot to do with all the sinister stuff no one talks about. And its up to ones like Dr Miller to risk career and status when some little dude is sitting in his office telling him, the guys at school make me do this and that, i told my mum what the baby sitter does to me but my mum told me not to tell anyone etc etc

Look at the Penn state case, how long did it take for everthing to come out, how many of there mothers tried to keep it hush. And even when it did come out, a lot of people around him were like Oh he's a reall good coach, and we love football, so they're just making it up to get money. 'Justice' finally done, but those victims will still have to move away, blamed for that college now being infamous

Its that kind of stuff that needs to be fixed, not stupid jokes from married guys about taking it up the bum who then the next night get the wife to put on the strapon.
