Today, my boyfriend's best friend was talking about how much makeup his girlfriend (who I think is wayyy more beautiful than I am) wears, and then my boyfriend chimed in to say "My girlfriend doesn't need to wear makeup " and that made me smile.

 

Tim came into the place carrying beer.

 

I just posted this story in the Random Facts thread, but I'll post it again here

My dog calmed another dog down in class today. The other dog is naturally timid because of a history of abuse and Sylus got away from us and went up to her while she was going nuts and calmed her right down!

I was shocked...more because I didn't know what he was going to do once he got to her, but also because he knew she wasn't playing.

My dog is like the Dallai Llama of dogs! hahaha

 

I woke up and got to live another day

What can I say, I have an eye for detail.

 

i had a lecture/seminar at university on a subject that has obsessed me from an early age, with a lecturer who was a genuine virtuoso expert in her field, with a class of people who all wanted to be there and were passionate about academia on this topic, which genuinely inspired me to work harder, study, read around etc.

and suddenly i realized why the fuck i pay such a ridiculous amount of money, and incur SO MUCH debt, for this shit.

(although, tbf, it would have been nice if this sort of lecture had been the norm over the past two years)

t'was good.

 

today being friday, i was able to set my alarm for 2 hours later for tomorrow morning than it's set for during the week.

I went for a walk and found an old pre-civil war graveyard. I'm not morbid but my mom has always worked for a historical society that restores old graveyards and works on upkeep and protecting them from vandalism. I have a pretty healthy appreciation for an old graveyard and I can't wait to tell my mom about it. It looked like it had it's share of vandals and looters over the years. A lot of the headstones were overturned and one grave was completely smashed open.

 

that sucks. you still have to set the alarm.

 

I got off work early, got the title to my car for about a quarter of what I thought it was going to be, got paid by surprise since the bank is closed on Monday and apparently my new bosses actually give a crap (I'm really REALLY not used to that). Then I went with my family to the airport to pick up my grandma from the airport and my brother and dad dropped my mom, grandma, and me off at Hobby Lobby so I could look for ribbon to make a belt for my wedding dress. At Hobby Lobby, I found a ribbon, and found a crapload of beads I freaking loved. I also realized I will never make a lucrative business out of making hemp jewelry, so I might as well just keep making it for me and my friends. Haha. I made a choker with a little glass black mushroom pendant when I got home and I'm really super stoked about it. I had an awesome day.

 

tonight my husband and i went out dancing and he was super sweet. He's not the demonstrative type or is in the habit of complimenting my looks, but while we were dancing he kissed me and told me how nice and young and looked - that just never happens - so I was very happy, esp. since lately I've been feeling a bit unattractive. I just love this man. I know this post sounds a bit concieted but really I'm not that high maintainence or very vain at all. It was just nice to hear from my quiet husband!

Aww I'm happy for you guys having such a good day. Today is my 21st birthday My boyfriend is taking me out to dinner and drinks, pretty much spending his whole paycheck on me. I told him not to! Haha.

My story is finally getting a full time job with health and dental coverge after being being unemployed and applying and interviewing for work for nearly a year. The stress almost broke me.

Yesterday afternoon while walking Grace (dog) at the cemetery, I enjoyed the stunning fall leaves. It was awesome.
