Is it true that in a worse case scenario that nanobots can self-replicate on such a vast scale that they could turn the Earth and eventually the universe into grey goo?
True enough.. But what in particular is messing with your mind? The fact that nanotechnology is very much real and is being used even as we speak? Or what it's capable of? Technically speaking, nano technology could actually help us achieve immortality, that would be pretty effing cool. Of course, our population problem would still stand, but still imaging what we could accomplish if we were immortal?
It could also be used to control the fucking world. With each bite of food we take, we could be ingesting trillions nano-mind-control-bots that can only be detected wit top-notch technology possessed only by the elite. But there's not much we could do about that, so you know, fuck it.
There is good and bad in almost any tec. Almost any thing can be misused in the wrong hands. Just because a week mind is confused dosent make some thing bad . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanite desert rat
Well, War is a coming.. They have to do something to boost the economy after all. War is good for business, even if it is a false boom. So of course, war is a much needed evil in the world.. War has and always will be, the great catalyst which drives mankind. Think about where most of human innovation comes from? Yep.. Us trying to kill each other... Scary thought when you think about it.
