(from the Web) On a hot day the air near the ground is hot so the sound wave bends upwards from the hot air into the cold air. On a cold night the air near the ground is cold and so the sound wave bends downwards. This is why you can sometimes hear sounds from a long way away. The sound of my bare soles slapping the dirty pavement: an autumnal audition!
Errr... The only time my soles slap is when they are reinforced. One of the benefit for me of barefoot is a much quieter walk, indoors or out. So...I'm wondering... Do most barefooters cut down on noise pollution? Or is it more the way I walk rather than a choice of shoes or not? (I'm a 50-50 barefooter these days)
Going bf at Watersedge is why it's always me that sees the foxes and rabbits etc, they can't hear me coming.
