Hi guys, I'm looking for some nice songs to practice picking on the guitar. Shouldn't bee too difficult, somewhat of the level of "The Needle And The Damage Done" or "Scarborough Fair". Do you have any suggestions?
Anything at all that's fairly slow and gentle. You don't have to copy the recording, just make up your own patterns dude.
A few that i learned when i first started playing guitar are "black bird" by the beatles and "stairway to heaven". Rather simple, but very good songs to practice finger picking.
Yeah i was gonna say blackbird. Try New american classic by Taking back sunday. The intro it pretty cool.
Simple Kind of Man by Lynyrd Skynard. Sounds like a fingerpick at first but if you listen he's using a pick. An easy learn.
babe im gonna leave you- Led zeppelin nothing else matters- Metallica heres a hard one if your looking or a REAL challenge: dee-Randy Rhoads
"silence"-blindside, thats a beautiful song "wild horses"- rolling stones, that one is easy but u have to really listen to song before you play it.......then i think you'll know what your doing. the easiest to learn to play is.... "outside"- staind because you have to strum some tabs with the same numbers......its easier if u read the chords.haha..i got my self confus'd.
stairway to heaven is easy. it's the first song i learned and taught myself with guitar tabs i think i was 12 or 13 at the time, so any kid can pick that one up. gooduck!!
ya the entire rythm part of the song with simple chords and fimngerpicking is easy, but the solo is hard. i remember when i learned the entire song solo and all i played it and my mom (being one the biggest zep fans i know) ran in almost crying and she gave me 100$ for playing the whole song lol.
that's funny, mom hooked you up good. you better keep learning zep songs, it pays well at your house. lol
