i had my first dreads 4 years ago... and i took them out because it was just a drunkin night of "oh lets dread your hair!" then about a year later, i had my buddy do them witch took 3 days mind you, not an easy 3 days.. then i cut them out <bad energy> but the kid did an awsome job i give him Koodos! my hair has been short now for 5 months, its interesting its now shaggy and everything but the way, way back and sides are dreaded.. i just used wool, and started rubbing clockwise, it works very well.. although they are not just a quick and easy 3-4 day process, i have been doing it for like 4 months,,, and my hair is partly dreaded.. although i think its better that way, becasue they are "MY OWN" and all sorts of sizes, and its fun because everyday i get a new knot, or it looks differnt.. Dreads shouldn't just take a day--if you want them to be yours, take your time on them, you;ll be happier in the end, because there 100% yours-and no one elses hands been backbrushin;blah blah...

i have yet to see someone who really didn't (doesn't??) suit dreads, and hellyeah, do them naturally. don't pay for salon dreads; i did and i ended up with a head full of gross wax which i washed out the next day because it sucked so bad, so what a total waste of coin.. do them yourself, then they are personal, not to mention free
