Yelling at cats

I think when it bites you a yell at your pet is forgivable. Make it scared for your entertainment is obviously a very pathetic thing to do.

 

Why me and not the OP? All I said was to get a sense of humor and that the cat will survive! It's not like I'm posting videos of cats being abused!

Well, the most common thing for people to have a pet is to let it have an enjoyable life. It should be living not just surviving right. That's what abandoned, wild or abused animals do.

 

When my animal bites it's because he is scared of something, he doesn't just bite you usually. Why would I scare him more by yelling at him? Rather than reassuring him that he is a good bird and I love him. My macaw has a 30 word vocabulary, can say 5-6 word sentences and can sing whole songs, there is no way I would terrify him by yelling at him. There is no justification, maybe people should re evaluate if they really are fit to be a pet owner.

 

Ok. You are all right. I'm a horrible person for laughing at this poor cat. I should be taken out, yelled at and whipped for thinking this video could possibly be funny. I'm such a bad person. I can't believe how horrible I am. How mean I can be. How unfair I am and how I mistreat animals. You are all so much better than me. You are better people, nicer, happier. I don't deserve to be in your presence, to post on the boards, to be on the internet or to even exist! What have I done........

You could deal with criticism like this a bit better. If people are passionate about a subject like this they just feel like telling so. The laughing about a funny vid is all understandable, the condoning/supporting of the action by people who are pet owners themselves just is a bit worrying.
I don't think you are horrible at all and we don't have to overreact over this matter. I admit I have mistreated animals in my life too for my own fun, but happily I have an active conscience and there's no harm in getting aware or being pointed at wrong behaviour.

We are all individuals here. Have you seen some of the posts on these forums. You can't support everything on here. And sometimes it isn't a big deal at all (unless you make it so). Accept/tolerate the critisism. I'm sure you feel like dealing out some righteoulsy at times too.

 

How else did you expect us to react to the 'oh I'm just so horrible' tantrum...

No one is saying you should stop posting here. You can if you'd like. Hip Forums is the best forum I have ever ventured to, with some of the headiest people around the world. People here are open to all kinds of things. Many seemingly odd things.

If you feel like a horrible person and we are so mean then you should adjust your sensitivity level. We are offering our opinions and feedback on your douchey comments.

People gave you neg rep because your posts in this thread were lame and you practically said a couple times it was cool for someone to treat an animal like that.....

 

I get banned on a monthly basis on some other forums for shit i can get away with saying here on a daily basis.. HF is the bomb.. the only time things become issues here is if you try arguing with a mod/webmaster point of view
