I started the depo shot at fourteen and was on it until I was eightteen. All but the last two shot I recieved were given to me in my stomach. I had no periods after the first two shots until now, a year later. My first period was exacly one week. I have just started my second period six days after the first one ended. The blood is black/dark brown and very thick. I have also had stomach problems since I started the shot. I wake up every morning feeling sick to my stomach. The feeling happens at the same time every morning and lasts all day sometimes. My stomach is more sensitive now than it was before taking the depo as well. I have also recently learned that I shouldn't have used it for more than two years. I am anemic and only ninety pounds. I have relatives that have had (at beat, thank god) breast cancer. I also now have constant back pain. My entire body feels weaker after stopping the shot, especially if I am hungry. I also had two UTI'S while on the shot. I quite drinking pop for a very long time and drank alot in a short amount of time. When I went to the ER, the doctor said I had very unusual symptoms. My legs hurt, it got worse as time went on. Then I had back pain that I could feel progressively moving up my spine. I couldn't even walk. I army crawled to my mother's room. That pain was the worst I had felt in my life, and I have an usually high tolerance for pain. Since being on the depo, when I get a headache, it is far worse. Sometimes I can't move. I get dizzy almost every time I stand up. I'm just wondering how many of these things are related to the depo, whether I should be worried about any of them, and when things might get back to normal. Please help!

I'm not sure how much of all o this is related, but I've had sharp pains in my side the past two days. My back has been hurting more than usuall lately and so has my stomach.

Yesterday while I was at walmart, I felt blood gushing out of my vagina. This has never happened. My periods are so light I can get away with a panty liner. It felt like I had pissed myself. It soaked through my liner and undies. I didn't check my pants because I didn't want to know if it got through there, too. Plus I didn't care at the time because my pants were black so no one would be able to tell. The blood was mostly in a clump/ glob and it was very dark, almost black. It got on my legs, too. It lasted for maybe five minutes all together and had continued once I got to the bathroom. This may be gross, but I took a picture because this really freaked me out. I showed it to my roommate and talked to her she think I may have had a miscarriage. She says I'm paler and my dark circle under my eyes look worse than usual.

What, if anything should I be worried about? Should I go to the doctor?

Go see your doctor. Try not to worry too much. Those shots can mess up your hormones, I've heard of a lot of people having trouble with them.

The blood that isnt dark and in a glob is bright red. I haven't been sleeping much, but it seems like no matter how much I sleep, I'm still dead beat tired.

I don't know where you should go because I'm Canadian.

You are probably tired because you're bleeding so much. Make sure you're drinking enough fluids. For my heavy periods, I also take an ibuprofen every 4 hours while I am awake. It's an anti inflammatory so it helps shrink the vessels.

You really should see a doctor. Your iron levels must be really low now.

I bled a lot on DEPO. Also made me a raging bitch. I was only on it for a year and decided to stop it because of all the side effects. Good luck. I suggest taking Tri Sprintec if you can remember to take the pill! It's a nice pill, no bad side effects.
