Why can't you do both? Virginia is almost two, and every once in a while she wakes up at night. Either Tim or myself gets her up and brings her to bed with us. We all snuggle up together and sleep just fine (aside from the occasionally baby head to the nose!) The other night, both girls slept with us...and the dog! That was kinda cramped, but we do what is best for the kids...if they feel safe and comfortable sleeping with us, I'll do it for them. Without a second thought.

YOU are the mom...not your family. Isn't it amazing how the minute you become a parent, you are automatically wrong about everything?!? Just smile and say, I appreciate your intentions, but I am the mother, and I know what's best for MY baby.

I get so scared briging aden to bed with us the couch is small I know I wont roll over on to him the bed is so big, and I feel so bad for matt he gets up early and works alot, I can sleep during the day with the baby if i need to, he can't so I try and let him sleep during the week, on the weekends he helps during the night and saturday is his night to stay up with him all night while i sleep, aden wakes up alot at night so the couch is the best option right now.

Push your bed to the wall, or better yet, put your matress on the floor. Put baby next to the wall, you in the middle, and your guy on the edge.
When the baby wakes up, all you do is roll over and pop the titty in his mouth, he nurses, and you both go back to sleep.
If you sleep with the baby, the baby doesn't get a chance to cry and wake up your guy, and you WON'T roll over on him! Your maternal instincts are to strong.
He won't wake up your guy, either. You will all get a good night's sleep.

    Do you use powdered formula?

My SIL used to bring a thermos of warm water, the bottles, and can of formula into the room and keep them on the bedside table. When the baby woke up, she mixed the formula right there, fed the baby, and went back to sleep.
    It's a thought!

good advice everyone. my little one gets fussy for a while too, i try lots of stuff, sometimes i just sit rocking her as hard as i can singing at the top of my lungs the abc song, a vacuum works too, or a bath with the 2 of u...and when you get out put a towel in the dryer so the baby is warm comming out. its hard sometimes when you don't have another person to hand the baby to, sometimes she just wants her dad, and vice versa. singing really helps though!!

A lot of times colic is related to gassy tummies. I (being the world's WORST burper) would lay my babies on their backs on my lap and do the bicycle with their legs. Then, they fart away!! Or, lay them on their tummy on your lap, and just push lightly on their backs or move them back and forth to make them burp.

Feel her tummy when she is fussy...if it is hard and bloated feeling, its probably gas.

Ya he likes it when we lie him on his tummy in our laps. the books all say that colic usually lasts about 3 months so I have 3 weeks hopefully left.
