what are our rights in Aus? Do we have any at all living on the streets?

Hi,

I live out of my van which has been defected. I have no problems fixing it as I just brought it but I have been ordered to get off the roads(Im in South Australia) or they can seize my vehicle? I have just paid to stay in a caravan park(as I was pulled up in front of it, maybe a mate of the park owners as it pretty empty) which I cant really afford but Im hoping I can fix it over the next few days before I run out of cash and get back on the road.

If I cant fix it and have to leave, what are my rights? Homeless people do have rights dont we?

I dont think it's fair on the park owners that I become their problem.

Dickhead cops in Port Pirie just showing off his forceful powers as I had a policeman drive my vehicle the other day near Gawler with no comments about my reflectors and lights not working correctly or I wouldnt have come this far away from a free camp. You live and learn, I dont claim to be a expert on cars but I tried and learnt something.

Any help/advice appreciated. I love this country but Im really starting to hate this government, if only I could move OS Id be on the first plane out of here.

If you get pulled over by Fuzz DON'T ARGUE with them. If they ask you a question and the answer is no, just say 'no' and don't elaborate.Keep you answers to the absolute minimum. Can you take the matter to court? The fuzz does not like taking traffic matters to court as it is wasting their time.

What colour is the van? I am never buying any red vehicle aver again.Does it have artwork on it? Black is another colour they target.

Yeah I learnt that a long time ago, there always right even when their wrong.

Yes there is some red on it, no artwork or anything else. Its an old van but it's neat.

Ive just learnt that there going to charge me a fee for the inspection to get it back on the road? Im tempted just to walk away as I cant afford this crap.

Ive sorted the issue but I dont have any more money to stay at this caravan park or pay the inspection.

FTS - Im very tempted to go bush and leave all my belongings. Ive been living on the streets for the last 2 years, was great to have somewhere warm and dry but like houses I can afford the bills and crap. Or better said, I can afford them but Im not working to be broke all the time.

Let me guess what van it is, RH series Hiace? How much is the fee to get it back on the road again. Are you on the dole? What kind of work do you do?

Im a computer geek, worked for many large financial global scum world wide as a programmer for many years. I cant work for them ripping of the poor core of life(mums and dads) who dont understand the big picture.

Im not on the dole. easier to make a few dollars than to go though thier waste of time crap systems.

Im just after a better life than working for the man... Made more money than most people dream of but it doesnt make you happy if you cant live.

sorry forgot to add, no idea on the fee? About $130-160 from what I can work out. More work for this wonderful system that give us nothing in return.

 

homeless people get nothing while i know so many people who easily get dole money and waste it every week on alcohol, protein shakes and crap they don't need. thats australia. plus im envious of your van life please take me with you..

if you live in USA you get no free health, if u cut your arm off and dont have insurance, and no cash to pay for that arm to be stitched back on, your arm goes in the trash can and your sent on your way.

if you cant pay $150,000 for a new heart, you die, thats how they do it because they wont use a medicare system like we have where every australian gets access to free medical treatment if they need it.

if you smash yourself up in an accident in your beat up heap of shit, at least the aussie government fixes you up, free of any charge to you, so you think hard about that, because while your out there bitching about your situation, im out there paying my taxes, and 1.5% of my income goes to the medicare system that helps support people like you, someone who, btw, isnt paying a dime in medicare surcharges like i do, yet you still get treated in hospital.

we get unemployment benefits that puts the USA benifit to shame, we get child support for those on lower incomes to help us bring up our kids, we get all the other perks that not many other countries have, and you people bitch about about how hard things are for you.

if you want to leave australia so bad, let me be the first to "WISH YOU BON VOYAGE" because we dont need whingers like you here in australia, least if your going to go somewhere, go to Canada, they know how to treat their own people just like we do.

I think that would be a great idea being able to swap visa's/citezenship. I know Id swap mine pretty fast. And did you know more people move out of aus each year than the country can import. As this country isnt all it's cranked up to be with all our red tape and bullshit laws. But were not as free as you might like to think in the not so democratic country. Classic example is our internet is being filtered so we can oly read what they want us too, unless you know how to get around this which Im sure you dont as you sound like a complete tosser.
