Running from Police

dude - you have no choice - you have to cut off all your hair, wear a set of clothes you would never wear, and buy a plane ticket to some country that does not have extradition with the united states, like Cambodia or south America somewhere. if u cant afford a ticket, you have to walk - hitchhike - smuggle yourself ASAP across the border into Mexico. once there, make your way south, and keep moving. you will have at most a 2 day jump on the feds. always keep eyes in the back of your head for the rest of your life, never form any close relationships you couldn't leave without a seconds thought. your best bet would be to find a cave in some jungle somewhere and live out the rest of your life as best u can.

I don't really see a problem with this if he tried to escape with the contraband... It's his ass on the line, not his friends, right? I do think it's a little uncool to ditch leaving him with a piece still in his car though. Your charges should be fairly minor, as long as they didn't get evidence on you. I'm a little puzzled as to why they were able to find you from your phone, don't they need like a warrant of some sort to actually view the contents of your cell phone? That's pretty private information right there. Sounds like your friend might've flipped on you or something... Jus sayin...

 

Running is fine. Ditching someone with illegal shit is not.

He ditched out without taking all the illegal shit, to save his own ass.

If his friend got busted, no warrant was needed, generally. It's a little grey, and that's how they like it. If someone fled a crime scene and left a phone, and his friend who stayed denied owning it, it's not hard in the least to go through it, no warrant needed.

If you grab the evidence and run, that's cool, if you run like a bitch and leave whoever's behind with illegal things, you screw them from the start.

There's no need for more than one person to be charged, but that would be the case even if he didn't run, if they both stuck to a story. Since he ran, there was no reason for ANYONE to get in ANY trouble, except that he's a douche.

The cops have no timeline or evidence that ties you to that phone at that time.
Just don't tell them anything and you'll be better off I'd think.
You don't have to answer any questions without representation, and "everything you say can and will be used against you" not the other way around.

 

Yeah, if this isn't over and done with just yet, DO NOT tell them ANY sort of story. You weren't there, you left your phone with your buddy at an earlier time. Don't say too much (even if it doesn't sound incriminating) because you'll be very surprised what the cops will turn your story into if there's enough words.

 

So what's the update on this story. I am interested to see what the out come is?
Dude, I get why you would run , no one wants to get in to legal trouble, but it was a douche move leaving your friend holding the bag. That just causes move trouble than what had to be I am sure.

Wow! I must say that was messed up! I would think the cops would contact you in some way since it was your cell phone and car left behind. But damn...with your friend...I honestly don't have anything to say with that one.
