Yep, can't beat the feeling of cool mud oozing between the bare toes. It rained overnight and my favourite bakery uses a vacant lot next door for parking (nice and close while I am back on crutches so very convenient). It turns to mud very easily so I will be paying them a visit for lunch, just to get some mud under my sole!
A walk along a muddy beach is recommended if you like this.... There are loads of beaches in the UK that become mud flats at low tide, where you can walk for miles in the sunshine in the lovely soft mud Weston Super mare is particularly good!
Actually whilst on this topic, I came across this once: http://www.holland.com/us/tourism/regions/wadden-islands/mud-flat-walking-1.htm It seems quite big over there, lots of people go on the guided walks. That would be quite cool to do barefoot, if they would let you (not to mention much easier!). Anyone of our European friends tried it? Ganesha? Matje?
