I bet the media won't want to cover this story in any detail, which probably explains why I haven't heard about it.

Too bad there's around eight thousand murders committed with firearms in 2010 alone.

The guy could have been buying a hammer, and could have starting hitting people on the head with it, and he could have been stopped by someone with a knife. Maybe everyone should carry knives too?

"In 2004, there were approximately 2,275 knife murders in the USA."

Good point, people will kill each other with just about anything. Some people think controlling weapons is the answer to violence, but nothing will stop an individual determined to kill another, except another individual with the means to do so. As has been said: "Guns don't kill people, people do."

Guns are here, their is not some magic button we can push to get rid of them all. It wont happen. Sorry, it wont ever happen.

Since we live in a world were we know we cannot elimate guns, why would anyone seek to disarm those who are not a threat?

We could eliminate guns, and knives (yes that includes your kitchen knives), hell we could even eliminate saran plastic wrap so people don't get suffocated. Banning any of those three items doesn't eliminate violence, you are just changing the way in which violence is acted.

If you ban guns from the public, you wont ban those who still want guns illegally to hurt others. If anything you want a armed public.

Read about Switzerland. They know how to live peacefully better than any of us.

That in todays world are guns. Sorry but its the truth.

Why would anybody but the local media cover this?
Seems ridiculous to expect that every stupid crime like this goes national. And stupid crimes like this happen everywhere, every day.
