yup.. We had all that weather and storms yesterday and monday.. the first one getting to you was the better of the two systems that came through minnesota.. hailed for somewhere between 15-30min.. been awhile since i've seen a decent hail storm.. the 2nd one.. which happened at midnight.. brought on some strong winds.. upwards of 90mph in some areas.. nothing like that near me though
Of course I know that, but bovine belches still produce more greenhouse gasses. The question was about huge eruptions that dump 1000's of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, not the ongoing trickle from smoldering volcanoes. Plus if volcanoes are erupting all the time then that has to be figured as an environmental constant and that helps to further illustrate the human impact if the numbers are to believed. They have records of the atmosphere going back hundreds of thousands of years and those figures do show a dramatic increase in atmospheric CO2 beginning with the industrial revolution.
"The observed widespread warming of the atmosphere and ocean, together with ice mass loss, support the conclusion that it is extremely unlikely that global climate change of the past 50 years can be explained without external forcing and very likely that it is not due to known natural causes alone. During this period, the sum of solar and volcanic forcings would likely have produced cooling, not warming. Warming of the climate system has been detected in changes in surface and atmospheric temperatures and in temperatures of the upper several hundred metres of the ocean. The observed pattern of tropospheric warming and stratospheric cooling is very likely due to the combined influences of GHG increases and stratospheric ozone depletion. It is likely that increases in GHG concentrations alone would have caused more warming than observed because volcanic and anthropogenic aerosols have offset some warming that would otherwise have taken place." http://www.ipcc.ch/publications_and_data/ar4/syr/en/mains2-4.html
So basically we should be in a "natural" cooling period, and instead temps are rising dramatically. So what happens when the "natural" cooling period ends, and the planet goes thru it's "natural" warming, in addition to man's contribution to GHG and global pollution...? You can expect a synergy of heat and poison gases to surround the planet when that happens...
August was the dryest month in WV since 1940. My poor garden. I probably spent more money on tap water than if I'd bought at a grocery store. At least, except for the flourine in the tap water, my veggies are organic.
Expecting to get up to 90 degrees again today. If we do it will be the 49th day this summer to be 90 or above.
August set new records for sea ice loss in the Arctic. It's at its lowest extent ever recorded. They expect one more week of loss before the arctic begins to freeze over for winter.
