How do I know if a free spirited girl is into me?

So I kinda have a type, which is described pretty well by this trope. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ManicPixieDreamGirl I seem to be attracted to these "bundle of love" happy hippie girls, because I crave spontaneity in my life. But it's really hard to tell if they're into me because they could just be like that with everyone. I've tried to compare how they treat other guys with how they treat me and it still confuses me. So what can I do to connect with girls like this or is it just a worthless pursuit that is trying to fix a problem that should be dealt with by just becoming a more spontaneous person. Or do I need to become more spontaneous first to connect with Manic Pixie Dream Girls?

 

You're craving a bit of a cliche there aren't you? It doesen't sound like you're attacted to the people themselves but more what they represent in your own head. I know it's not what you're asking it's just that while being attracted to a certain type of perso is fine (asian, arab ect) I think its a slippery slope when you start assuming their personality types based on your own perceived cliche. I'm sure their are some highly strung hippie chicks out there.

Anyway I dont think you should ever think you need to change yourself to better suit someone else.

 

It's not that I assume anything about the personality types. It's those personality types that I am attracted to. A Manic Pixie Dream Girl isn't really defined by anything other than their personality.

I don't really get what a "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" is, or rather, what is so special about them.

Basically u want your gf to be hot, funny, happy, and to make u feel self-confident. how is that any different from most guys' fantasy?

 

Nah, it's more than that. A MPDG is more like a spacey "off with the fairies" type. And the "high on life" part is important. Look at some of the examples from shows and movies if you don't understand. Zooey Deschanel best typifies this character.

What I call these girls is kind of irrelevant. The trend is that when I go for girls who seem to be into me, I find out they act like that to everyone.

If you want her to be exclusively into you, good luck with that, because as you say, she'd probably act the same way with every guy. If that's the case, you may want to rethink what you're looking for in a girl. Haven't you ever seen 500 Days of Summer?

If you're okay with the fact that she may be flirty (not the best word, but the best I can think of at the moment) with other guys, then yes, be direct and ask her.

Also, never rule out the possibility that you could meet the right person and your love could be the joint that gives her that life-high

Racking your brains, and reading into every single thing that this girl does is going to make you insane. If she is very social and outgoing, she isn't going to change if you do end up getting together, so you have to be mindful not to get jealous as this will probably turn her off. You don't have to change who you are, and become her, she probably isn't looking to date herself. But just keep an open mind to trying new things. You should take her out on a date, somewhere that makes you excited and passionate, expose her to new things. Then tell her how she makes you feel, and her response to this should tip you off as to how you make her feel.
